Yellow seepage on back

The vet sent the shots home with me after showing her I could do it correctly. He doesn't even flinch when he gets a shot.

    Yellow seepage on back

Yes, all the lighting, etc. is the same since I built the habitat. The only difference is the log I put in about 2 years ago has been removed. He does seem to be doing better and has been a little more active. I think he's missing his log that he'd become attached to, but, that's the way it...

    Yellow seepage on back

This is his cage for last 6+ years with the tall log taken out. This is his back after the doctor cleaned off a couple layers of shed. Once Norbert "took" to his log, he only went to the basking stone after eating. He spent almost all his time on his log, right at the top. I...

    Yellow seepage on back

It's a T8 Reptisun 10.0, not a coil. I have a digital thermometer contact (like the one's recommended on here) on the surface of the basking rock, where the light is directed. It's the same as the last 6+ years. It's a halogen flood on a dimmer that allows me to adjust it to the desired...

    Yellow seepage on back

I thought the 13" was a little odd, too. But this office was recommended by people on this site years ago as very knowledgeable. He could get to the 5.5" from the UV light. The basking light is in the same position it's been since I made the habitat 6+ years ago. It's a modified version of...

    Yellow seepage on back

Took Norbert to the vet today after triple antiobiotic ointment or athletes foot ointment didn't make a difference. The vet considers it a sunburn. Almost 2 years ago we put a climbing log into his habitat that put him 5.5" from the bottom of the UV bulb. She says should be 13" from UV bulb...

    Yellow seepage on back

No. He can't get that close to the light. My son noticed it a few days ago. He might have slipped of his branch onto the basking rocks. I'm pretty sure my honey is pasteurized, I don't know if that would be the same as raw. I guess I'll try a triple ointment and see if it shows any improvement.

    Yellow seepage on back

OK. Well I can't remember how to import an image to this page. It doesn't look like the yellow fungus pictures. It's possible that he wounded himself while rubbing to try to get the shed off. I don't believe anyone tried to get the shed off for him, but they've been reminded not to do so...

    Yellow seepage on back

I have a 6 year old male bearded dragon. His tank has a tile floor, Repti Sun UV light and basking light and rocks. It's the same enclosure his entire life. He is in shed mode. There's a section of shed on his back where's there's a yellowish goo. I've given him a bath to try to help the...

    Liquid Nails for Tile Selant

I believe once it is totally cured and the scent is gone, it is non-toxic. However, I've never used it and then had it under heat lamps either. Whether that would continue to give off a smell I can't say. Maybe they would have information on their website?

Help my beardie looks like he's choking???????????

Our beardie did the same thing. My daughter had put a bunch of greens in his viv and he pigged out. Then a minute or two later he had his mouth open (full of greens) and made gagging, choking movements. My daughter went screaming and crying from the room yelling she had "killed" him. I spent...

    sealent

I've seen a lot of posts that have used modge podge for fake rock walls as a sealant. For my main tank I used Minwax Polycrylic; it's water based so you don't have to worry about the fumes. You'd have to read the can to see if there's certain materials it isn't recommend for use on.

    Liquid Nails for Tile Selant

I don't have any other suggestions, but liquid nails will not be any easier to take apart than grout. If you try to take apart joints that you used the liquid nails on, you'll probably ruin your enclosure. If you check out Rockler.com or some other specialty wood hardware websites, you can...

Building my Vivarium - Some tips

Here's a picture from the side and the front. I've never made a cabinet before, but have been taking up woodworking as a hobby. I learn at least one new lesson on each project. But I don't forget them either.

Building my Vivarium - Some tips

In case you would want to try to make another out of oak, I used a 1" corner bead on the top outer edges. It covered up the seam in the wood as well as the nails, etc. It came out very finished looking. I put the corner beads on, then used that to set the dimensions of the front face frame...

    Sliding vs Cabinet style doors

I thought long and hard about this one. I chose to have 2 doors on the front. I really like it for the convenience. I can get at Norbert easily no matter where he's at and it's also very easy to clean inside the tank. I also put a window on each end. He seems to really like being able see...

When to change food quantity based upon age?

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to have to try the worms. The last several batches of crickets have had a couple "chatty" ones in the batch. Rather annoying with the TV, etc. and can even hear them upstairs.

When to change food quantity based upon age?

Everyone, thanks for the info. About how many superworms would you think a 16" BD would eat a day? Do superworms also go by another name?

When to change food quantity based upon age?

Thanks for the idea on the worms. I might have to look into that and start rotating them in or something. I've seen tempuratures recommended up to 112-115, so I didn't think this was out of line. When his basking temps drop below 108-110, I've noticed that he doesn't seem to poop as...
