Thanks for the nice comments. Sheldon poses for food and hates when I bring the camera instead. The viv we built for Lelu but she moved on. So Sheldon has it now. It sports a stone tile floor, in ground pool/sand box, hand painted background, fake rock tent, and a large front door for easy access.

Maybe adding a full spectrum florescent might do the trick. They add light without all the heat you get from incandescent.

I use unglazed ceramic tiles so Lelu my beardie would not slip as much and it helps keep her nails trimmed. Also nonporous tiles so clean up is easy. http://flic.kr/p/4DdLT7

Did you get the externally ballast (eb) bulb? Because the Mega-Ray self ballasted (sb) bulb does put out heat along with the uv light. It should be similar to to heat output of the TREX as long as they are the same wattage.

When I clean the viv I take the fake rock out and vacuum it. Then its wipe down withe Clorox wipes. I do not feed crickets to my Bearded dragon while she is in the viv. but other food is ok. Baked in cricket poop is hard to clean off fake rock.

Do you have the Flukers sun dome or an 8" diameter dome? What I have found is you need to have a 10" dia. dome so the bulb does not get to hot. And the dome should me mounted to a spot that does not move on the viv. Ounce I got the big dome mounted on my viv and stopped using my x-10 system to...

Hi I use cheap unglazed ceramic tile. They are like bathroom tile 6"*6". The unglazed tile are not too slippery for my dragon and help keep her nails trim. I did not grout them because its nice to take them out for a good viv cleaning when needed. Hope this helps...
