    Glass Chandelier to Vivarium Conversion.

Hello all. Let me start off by saying it's been a long time since I've been active on this site. I no longer have a bearded dragon but I'll be getting another one eventually. Even though this build is NOT for a bearded dragon, I've alway found this community to be very active and helpful. I...

    Tiles?

I've never had any problems with tiles getting too hot or too cold. They're a great substrate, in my opinion the best. Be sure you get some with a bit of texture (walking on smooth porcelain tiles is like ice skating for dragons, not good), and I think the larger the tiles the better (less...

    home made viv?

crazymum got her combinations wrong. While I do not recommend housing two together, the only combination that could work is two females. Two males get territorial and fight, and a male and female will mate and the male won't stop mating and the female has no where to run. Your best bet; One...

    Crickets hiding in driftwood holes...

Trust me, things become a million times easier when you feed in a separate box. No hiding places, no need to chase crickets around to get them out, easy clean up. So much better. A clear rubbermaid works great. Crickets can't climb the walls of the clear ones.

Huge home made viv help?! asap :)

Only if you're using it as your basking spot. Then you control the temps to get a surface temp of about 110*F.

Huge home made viv help?! asap :)

There are many conflicting ideas about all kinds of sand and other loose substrates. The easiest thing to do is just avoid them entirely. There are no safety issues with something like tile. Anyways. Kubie has a nice looking cage, but you really should not use screen. It's best to use glass...

Huge home made viv help?! asap :)

Yea, that really does seem too big. For the the amount of materials needed and the high cost, it's just not worth it for only one dragon. A very standard size tank we use is 4"x2"x2". That's 8 square feet of floor space and it's enough to keep any dragon happy. Your L tank would be 32 square...

    LLLReptile Store

Yea, I use armstrongcricket.com. They've been great. Never had any problems. ghann.com actually were the ones LLL ordered from. They messed up so many orders.

    LLLReptile Store

When buying lights from them, I've had no problems. Good service, and fast shipping. I have, however, had major issues with buying feeders from them. The problem came from the fact that they are the middle man in my case. The issue comes from location. I'm in Georgia. They are in California...

Help! I need a mount for my 24' UVB bulb.

Ok, that just sounds like that one employee might not know what they're doing. Look around, the boxes will say T-12 on them. I got both my 24" and 48" T-12s at Lowe's. Home Depot should have basically the same stock.

    Viv pics only thread

Looks great Hpg613Dragon, though I strongly suggest you go ahead and get that styrofoam covered with a few layers of grout and sealed. It will be a great fake rock fixture. We wouldn't want a piece to break off where your dragon could eat it. It's easy. You can check out my tutorial here...

    hiding spots

When they are young and still not used to people, they may try to hide too much. Hides are not recommended for young dragons. Once they're older, it's good to give them a cave or somewhere they can go to hide and feel safe. Once they're older, a dragon knows what's best for it. It will bask when...

    Hardware 125w Heat Lamp

If it gives off bright white light (no red) and gets you the proper temps, then it would be fine to use for your dragon.

    Sterilizing Sea Rocks?

Rocks explode in the oven because of moisture in them rapidly expanding. Changes in temperature need to happen slowly. You can still bake them. Normally, you'd just bake at 300*F for 30 minutes, but since you're so worried about them exploding, we'll slow the process down. First, leave them to...

Help! I need a mount for my 24' UVB bulb.

If your local hardware store couldn't help you, then they are worthless. It's just a florescent fixture. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and tell them you need a 24 inch T-12 fixture. If you get one of the cheap utility ones you wire yourself, it will be about $10. Ask them and they will tell you how...

    Viv furnishings

You could buy rocks and branches and stuff, or you can go outside and get them for FREE!!! You just need to clean and sterilize them. Once they've been scrubbed clean, bake them in the oven at 300*F (149*C) for about 30 minutes. For your branch, I don't think you want to permanently attach it by...
