UVB for a 40 gallon breeder tank

I've got a 24" zoomed t5 fixture with a reptisun 10.0 on my 40 gallon. It just sits on the screen and cause it's shorter than the tank, it gives him an area that's out of the light. Hope this helps.

3-4 month old stopped eating crickets

Well, they didn't have any dubias this week. I did pick up a few hornworms, more crickets and some waxworms. I dropped a few of the waxworms in and he gobbed them up along with a small hornworm. I'll try the crickets again after they've eating some gutload. I know the waxworms are fatty, but...

3-4 month old stopped eating crickets

Hi all. We had Sheldon, our 3-4 month old baby leatherback (around 6") on hold at our local petshop for about a month. We picked him up last Monday, after returning from our vacation. Last week he was eating medium crickets (dusted and non-dusted) - (about 3/8" size). The 1st few days, he...

How does this tank look so far? Is the lighting right?

Certainly I could be wrong, last time I had a Dragon was over 10 years ago. Mine new guy is only 6" and estimated around 2 months old. The store told me they believed their Dragons were between 2-3 months old and he was one of the smaller ones. Here's a photo of mine, yours just looks more...

How does this tank look so far? Is the lighting right?

Not an expert, but I think at 14-16", I think she's much older, more like a year (just a guess). I have my tube on top, but I've seen others with them mounted inside. I'm using a reptisun 10.0 in mine too. Definitely don't keep using the coil uvb bulb, I read they can cause eye issues. If...

Hey Ya'll! Brand new beardie owner and baby beardie here

Congrats on your new babies. Here's ours (Sheldon), he comes home in about 2-1/2 weeks. We weren't going to get anything that day, we were going to wait until after our vacation. My daughter really liked the the leatherbacks, which they only get once a year. And she really liked him. They...

Tank & UVB lamp for baby

OK, thanks. I cleaned up the 40 gallon and got some reptile carpet and a background. Next I'll order the 10.0 bulb and work on the temperature settings, with the heat lamp.

Tank & UVB lamp for baby

So a baby wouldn't need a partition in a 40. That would be the easiest, just thought they needed a smaller area to help them find their food. I'll assume 12" is for the T5 10.0, but is this with or without a screen top. I hear how screen tops can significantly filter the UVB.

Tank & UVB lamp for baby

I have a few options to choose from with both of these. To start with, I can just make a partition for my 40 gal or use a 10 gallon, both I have. As a recall, I used a 10 gallon before when I had babies, then switched to larger as they got bigger. But, I didn't have the 40 and was using a MV...

    Little Leatherback

It's been a while since we've had a Bearded Dragon, probably close to 10 years. We were looking for a new lizard and my daughter wanted a Bearded Dragon, we were considering between another chameleon or a bearded dragon. But, after my daughter and wife saw the dragons, they both decided on one...
