Safe distance from UVB to dragon

Hello, I recently added a new climbing piece of wood to my 120 gallon vivarium. I have a 10.0 T5 HO UVB inside the tank. It is about 13 inches above the basking spot and about 9 inches above the wood. When the dragon is on the wood she is about 7 - 8 inches from the UVB. Are these safe...

Need help on selecting lighting for 40 gallon tank

The 40 gallon tank is only 18 inches high. The mesh is finer than that of the 120 gallon tank. I was thinking of getting the double dome receptacle to hold the basking bulb and a coil type UVB since she won't spend but about two hours per day in that tank.

Need help on selecting lighting for 40 gallon tank

Hello, I currently have my girl in a 120 gallon tank which is great and she loves it. I have noticed her wanting to dig. I have a 40 gallon tank I have ordered repti-sand and repti-soil along with a plastic cat litter pan so I can give her a little time every day to dig and hang out. I have...

    Dragon not eating

She gets roaches and hornworms. I did not give meloxicam today because she ate three roaches and two hornworms. Refused her greens as I offered them all morning and she still would not eat. So in the afternoon I offered her the other food and she ate a little.

    Dragon not eating

Hi Tracie, Nothing is red or swollen on her body. Her weight is good. No appearance of shedding on her face. There is a small area on her tail. Of course, they offered more x-ray interpretations by a specialist and bloodwork. I declined as the cost was very high. Giving her the meloxicam...

    Dragon not eating

Today Vhagara is so hungry and did her little "bulldog" stance she does when she is hungry. So I fed her a piece of collard greens dressed in a little bearded dragon salad dressing and a few sprinkles of bee pollen. She gobbled it up then clawed at the right side of her mouth and rubbed her...

    Dragon not eating

I upped the temp a bit. She has been hanging out in her hide. I am wondering if she is having trouble snapping out of brumation.

I live in the desert and with our heat on the hygrometer got down to not registering any humidity. I have a humidifier and the hygrometer is usually around 30% humidity. She is at 430.3 grams.

    Dragon not eating

Not that I have seen. She has a fountain in her habitat. I fed her hornworms to help hydrate her. She was having BMs every other day (had a normal one yesterday). But did not eat yesterday or today. Turns her head away.

    Dragon not eating

Hello! My two year old female dragon, Vhagara, came out of a 4 1/2 brumation and has not been eating well. In fact, she has not eaten at all for the past two days. She won't even eat her hornworms which she loves. She looks great and is running around and climbing on her branch. I soaked...

    Hi there!

I have had to take a crash course in dragon keep as there is so much to learn. And so many opinions. You will get to know your dragon and her/his needs. In the beginning I kept mine too warm. I feel so bad about it but I did not know as I was getting so many opinions. The vet gave me great...

    Hi there!

Yes. It is normal. Most of the time mine goes every other day. But when she has gone like 5 days, I give her a warm shallow bath. I take a cup and pour the warm water over her body with avoiding her head. I make the water around 85 degrees. She has now gotten used to being in the tub. The...

    Hi there!

Would love to visit Maine. I am in Las Vegas. She will get more accustomed to you if you handle her some. I rescued mine in August at 19 months old. She had not been handled and never introduced to veggies/greens. It has been a challenge.
