Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

This was what was going on the first time she had tremors...so it's basically the same thing that happened the second time: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d64mwhwmhfy9uqf/20221030_154358.mp4?dl=0 And here is how she's doing now: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hb02dtweguf6mza/20230206_142112.mp4?dl=0...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

So far they're soft....when she has them. She's so picky with her food, and I have to keep her outside for so long before she'll do anything. Easily the most stubborn pet I've ever had : D

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Update: I've been administering the calcium liquid to her every day, and spraying her food with it. The silkworms finally came in, and she took one look at them and, literally, turned up her nose. They're pretty tiny, so I'm going to try again when they get a little bigger, if they live that...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Her front legs were the ones with the tremors, but they seem to be doing pretty well now. Her appetite is good, as long as you're feeding her what she wants : )

I've also got a fresh batch of discoids that just hatched. As soon as they're big enough, I'll add them to her menu. Tbh, they're so fun to watch, sometimes I forget they're food. I probably have enough breeding pairs by now, though (18 adults, sex undetermined).

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

I've been looking for hornworms, but every pet shop I've gone to is out of them. I'm waiting for my silkworms to come in, but got a message that it will be a while since there seems to be a run on them. I've been trying to get her to eat the soldier fly larvae but she's been turning her nose up...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Update on Roz: The bottle of liquid calcium I have said that if a pet had calcium deficiency to give three drops a day orally. You all know how hard it is to get something into a beardie's mouth that they don't want, so I just sprayed her food very liberally in it before feeding her. Since the...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Yes, I ordered her some silkworms. I'm trying to get her to eat the soldier fly larvae in the meantime, but she's not having them. She's still having a problem with the tremors. I've scooted the screen forward enough so that the UVB isn't blocked, though, and her heat lamp is right next to it...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Actually, yeah, I could probably cut a hole in the screen...I didn't think of that.. the light would still be about a foot above her. Would it be okay being that far away?

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

I could take the screen off, but I have cats who like to jump up where they aren't supposed to be. I'm afraid they may try to jump into her cage and inadvertently hurt her. I have soldier fly larvae for her right now, and in a couple of days I'm going to pick up some hornworms for her. I'm also...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

I'm going to have to buy a shorter uvb setup. The one she has is too long to fit inside the cage. But I did bring her outside for a couple of hours, and I'm still having to trick her into eating greens. I'm going to pick up some more worms next week when the new shipments come in. All the ones...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

I actually DO have dubia roaches for her. I've found that they're cheaper to breed than to buy. A dollar a roach is too spendy for me, so I just keep a few breeding pairs in an aquarium. I don't give them to her often, as I was told that they're like "potato chips," more of a treat than a...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

I'm going to pick up some velcro tomorrow and see what I can do with that UVB light. I do have a liquid calcium that I spray on her food (she won't touch anything with powder on it), and I definitely need a screen--I also have cats, and while they get along with her, I wouldn't put it past them...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

The friend who gave her to me has several dogs, and his kids loved the dogs and ignored the dragon, so he offered her to me. I'm never one to turn down a pet in need of a home, so I took her, and subsequently had to do a buttload of research on how to properly care for her. I'm STILL looking...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Ok. I had no idea that I should be using a clear basking bulb. I use the red so that I can leave it on at night when it's particularly chilly. I figured a white light would be too bright for her to sleep. She came with the red. Would a basking rock be better, or maybe a heat emitter I can put...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Ok. I'll deal with the lighting first thing. Thank you, everyone, for your advice.

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

Those are good suggestions, thank you. I'll try the velcro one. I'm using a fluker's red basking light, I want to say it's a 120w, and I'm using a reptisun T5 HO for the tank-long UVB.

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

The UVB is on top of the screen. I'd say it's within a foot of her. The way the enclosure is made, that's as close as I can get it. I've been looking for something to use to hang it on the inside, but unless I can do away with the screen altogether (can I do that? does there HAVE to be a top to...

Beardie has tremors in front legs when walking

My beardie, who was given to me by a friend, has been having problems with her front legs. When she walks, she has tremors, like a palsy, in them. The diet she was given previously was not the best (only mealworms), and at first I thought she was having calcium issues, as the lights we were...
