spare some tips for a newbie?

Hi! :) The biggest surprise I had when I got my guy as a baby was just how much he ate and how crazy fast he grew. Make sure to have plenty of feeders - maybe think about starting a roach colony. Take lots of pics and enjoy every minute of your baby as a baby.

    Something about nothing....

Ugh! Brumation! 🙄 I keep telling my guy that he doesn’t need to do it, but he doesn’t listen. Last year he slept for four months straight, waking briefly only once. He officially went into his hide a couple of weeks ago after being a sleepy lethargic blob for over a month. I expect I...

    Need more options

I like to give my animals a variety of staple feeders - roaches, crickets, silkworms, etc and only for my beardies do I use superworms as a staple rather than a treat. I try to breed my own feeders, which has become a hobby into itself. Whatever feeders you give, just make sure to keep them well...

    Hi! Nice to be here.

Thank you for the compliments. 🥰 The live birth chameleons are astounding! Within seconds of being plopped out, they are grabbing and climbing. Nature is so cool and you are so fortunate to have experienced that!

    Hi! Nice to be here.

I’ve finally reached the place in my life where I can prioritize my love for animals and am taking full advantage of it. 🤗 Pics? You want to see my critters? Sure! Mwah ha ha! Let me start with the chameleons. This is my sweet Grumpy who started the whole reptile journey - female veiled...

    Laying questions

Thanks so much for responding. :) I had put her back in her tank for sleep already. She spent the day in the special lay bin and didn’t dig anything at all. It does have a good amount of play sand/organic soil mix in it and I made it so it had a deep dip at the middle. I had to use some of the...

    Laying questions

Thank you for your reply. How deep was your substrate? The info I found on lay bins for beardies all said they need to be at least 6” deep, so that is what I’ve provided. She was kept on about 1-2” of sand in her previous home and is what I assume she laid her eggs on. I can’t afford to risk...

    Hi! Nice to be here.

Hi there. Due to having a question about one of my beardies, I just joined this forum. I already posted my question, so now am introducing myself and my animals. I’m a mature adult who only in the past few years discovered the joys of keeping reptiles. I have my two beardies, Spike and Electra...

    Laying questions

Hi. I’m brand new here and will introduce myself later in a separate post. I’ve done a bit of random web searching for info on egg laying and thought I had a clue about it, but now that my girl started digging today I find I’m feeling clueless. Just fyi if it matters any, I keep chameleons and...
