Staggering Lights On/Off with Corresponding Sunrise/Sunset +/- Offset Time

I have my guy setup next to my aerogarden (which is an indoor hydrogarden) It has built in lights that ramp up in the morning and evening and I have it set to start before/after his lights switch so he gets the benefits from it. I think he likes the routine of it. And it grows fresh greens for...

    Wood with dubia?

That could work! I might have to try this. My teenage boys easily keep me in egg cartons! But I hate trying to pluck them outta the crevices, cause my guy is still eating the little uns.

    Wood with dubia?

No, I meant keeping the wood separated so the roaches have room to move between them. The molding on egg crate kind of created hides already right....But if putting flat pieces of wood...they'll need some kind of separator to keep them from getting squashed between the peices as you move...

    Wood with dubia?

Good information to have! Good point about the gut loadeds ones. I'd be interested to see what you find best to keep them separated. That's the next hurdle. It would certainly make harvesting roaches sooooo much easier than trying to pluck them out of the egg crate ridges.

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

OMG......I won!!! I gave him a meal of roaches last night. And it's must a jumpstarted his metabolism because this morning when I put his salad bowl in he walked over to it and ate multiple bites of it on his own!!! So excited!!! Still not a whole meals worth. But he definitely knows it's food...

I've never heard of anyone else doing this...but until someone else chimes in. Just Definitely stay away from cedar, fir and pine. Bamboo maybe?!? There's an idea....just talking out loud here.

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

Ha ha ha....okay Morton you have alot of feelings. And I'm sorry you feel a need to keep reading things that upset you. That is probably really unhealthy for you as well. I don't feel bad at all for my choices. I stand by them 100% and I will do it again to him in the future. Tough love does...

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

Perhaps it will just have to be an ongoing battle with him. But though he never ate enough to be called a meal he tried more things this week than in the whole month before! So that is definitely to be celebrated. I think tomorrow I will let him win. And try again another time. Let me know how...

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

Well he's still not eating today.....and honestly I don't know how much longer I can keep going! He's so small already and though he's active. He has lost weight. I might try going back to bugs and maybe trying baby food. Maybe after a while he'd get used to the flavor of veggies. I'm so two...

New beardie Dad and completely freaking out….

Most important information you left out of your setup. We need temps for both sides, including basking spot. How you measure those temperatures? (The analog gage in her picture isn't gonna cut it) And do you have a proper UV tube light for her? Because sadly the multipurpose light you described...

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

Well, he had no interest in the alfalfa sprouts. But now at the end of the day I sprinkled a few meal worms on them and he was kind of forced to eat some because alfalfa spouts are almost impossible to miss! And then they get tangled up so they ended up pulling more into his mouth kind of like...

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

My three children would whole heartedly agree that being forced to eat their vegetables is abuse. (So would my husband for that matter.) I am an oddity in my own house it seems! However, this isn't what this thread is about....so Since my guy tried eating not only my puppy, but also my hair...

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

Ha ha ha ha....so right before lights out my rabid little carnivore tried to eat the family dog! I had him out for socialization and exercise and he went up to her buried himself in her fur and started trying to eat her fur. I guess she smelled better than his salads. I had to pull fur out of...

Take away food or wait till he becomes bigger?

Maybe try a few small bugs mixed in with his salad see if that starts him off eating it? So long as it's not enough to fill him you shouldn't loose your progress. I'd think it should just help peek his interest.

I just caught him in his salad bowl eating! Walked past again and he was basking again only a couple bites missing. But progress!

Thanks for the reminder that they are hardy, it helps to hear. Just not so certain my little guy would still be kicking it if he was living in the wild....pretty sure a little natural selection woulda seen him eaten by now. Poor little man will be 8 months old on the 7th and is only 9.5in and...
