    enrichment ideas?

So my beardies favorite form of enrichment is looking out the window but sometimes I have 12 hr work shifts so I can't let him out to explore as much as I'd like. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cage enrichment for when I'm gone?

    Enclosure feedback

Hello, I have a 1.5 year old male beardie and he's always been a lazy boy who refuses to eat much salad so I wanted to get some feedback on my viv to see if anyone had any suggestions to see if there may be something bothering him or to make him more active. It's a 4x2x2 zen with an Arcadia...

Blackbeard, sunken eyes after vet yesterday

Ok yeah, I think it must have been the blood draw. He's black bearding less today and he even accepted a hornworm so I think he's slowly starting to feel better.

Blackbeard, sunken eyes after vet yesterday

He is ADV positive so I just take him in to monitor bloodwork occasionally. It's just weird because he was totally normal before I took him in. The vet said the bloodwork was fine, they didn't put any units for the AST so I wasn't sure if that was elevated or not. I don't think they did anything...

So I posted here yesterday because I took my beardie to the vet yesterday for a wellness exam and he was fine, then he started blackbearding and acting funny. black beard after vet

So I took my beardie to the vet today for a wellness exam and bloodwork and he was fine. I think maybe he was a little overstimulated though, when I brought him back home he was fine for a while then suddenly while basking he started gaping and blackbearding and freaking out. I put him in his...

    More hiding?

My 1 year old beardie has been spending more time hiding lately, in the morning he'll go straight to his hide and falls asleep early. I plop him back in his basking spot and he'll stay there for a while normally. Besides that he's eating and pooping normally. He should be done bruminating at...

    Hard Urates

Hello, my 1year old beardie has been having hard urates lately, sometimes reddish colored. His poops are otherwise ok, he goes about once a week. He's in a 4x2x2 enclosure with hot side at 105F, and cool side at 80F. He has a reptisun 10.0 UVB HO mounted 12 inches from the basking spot inside...

Do Beardies bruminate longer up north?

My 1.5 year old beardie has been semi bruminating since November and I thought he was starting to come out of it but he's gone back to going to bed at noon again. I live up north so the sun still sets pretty early this time of year so I was wondering if anyone else had beardies that bruminate...

    Not pooping as much?

Ok thanks, I take him to a board certified reptile vet and she told me any amount of D3 can cause toxicity, but I'd be curious to know if it's necessary even with good UVB.

    Not pooping as much?

I don't ever use calcium with D3 he just gets plain calcium. Yeah the T5 is in a reflector inside the cage 11 inches from basking spot.

    Not pooping as much?

He's not being great about eating salads lately, he'll eat a couple of bites a day but never finishes it. I do spray the salad with water. I give him zoo med calcium without D3 2-3 times a week lightly dusted on his roaches. He gets repcal multivitamin once a week.

    Not pooping as much?

Thanks for your advice, the pumpkin did the trick he finally pooped. Last question- his urates were a bit chalky and hard, any suggestions for if there's anything I can do about this? I do try and orally hydrate him daily with a dropper but he never wants to drink much.
