Fussy Feeder Frank! (It's all my fault!)

Thanks for the suggestions! I will try Silk Worms and Black Soldier Fly Larvae in the salads and see how that goes. What about tough love? Only offering salads for a long period of time? Truthfully I think Frank would starve to death before he ate any salad! :ROFLMAO:

Fussy Feeder Frank! (It's all my fault!)

Frank is our 2.5 year old male Bearded Dragon. We got him as a rescue at 9 months. We've had quite the journey with Frank and food. Early on he got sick (took him to the vet and tested positive for Pinworm and Coccidian). We solved that with medication and correct husbandry (thanks to this...

    Frank trimming the tree!

It's Franks favorite time of year! He loves hiding in the Christmas tree and holding very still pretending to be the cutest ornament!

Making fake rocks from foam and grout.

Hello, I recently made Frank (our 2 year old male Beardie) a new enclosure from 3/4" Melamine shelving. It's 4'x2'x2' ish. To decorate it I decided to make a large basking rock for one corner. It would have a space running around the back so Frank could hide in it. Above would be his hammock...

    Frank needs your help!!

Another and hopefully the last Frank update. Frank seems to be back on track. A couple of weeks after his course of antibiotics ended and acclimating to his new bigger enclosure Frank started eating on his own again. He started with Superworms dropped in front of him, we have also tried...

    Frank needs your help!!

Yes there is a UVB 10.0 strip light mounted inside, the angle of the pictures don't show it sorry. I don't think we got on top of the Coccidia with the other medication. I suspect Frank was being re-infected in his old enclosure hence the new Melamine one with all new decorations.

    Frank needs your help!!

Another update on Frank. He still has not been eating on his own and it had been a couple of months so I took him back to the vet. I'm worried there is something wrong with his mouth. Mouth Rot or trauma caused by us giving him medication first time around. The vet examined Frank and wanted to...

    Frank needs your help!!

Any thoughts on Franks routine / environment setup? I really do think there is something wrong with his mouth. It seems very painful for him when we try to give him medicine which he doesn't want to open his mouth for and we have run the syringe on the side of his gums / teeth letting out a...

    Frank needs your help!!

Wanted to give an update on Frank's situation. We did another fecal test with our vet and the result came back positive for coccidian parasite Isospora. Frank has undergone his 6 day treatment with Albon (sulfadimethoxine) and his poop today was completely normal. We stripped his cage down and...

    Frank needs your help!!

Thank you for the reply Tracie and Karrie. Can you suggest a good probiotic for Frank? I rushed out this morning and picked up some Betadine, do you know a recommended dilution ratio? I diluted it 1:10 with water and put it on a Q-tip. I gently put the Q-tip to the side of Frank's mouth and...

    Frank needs your help!!

It's been a while so I wanted to give an update on Frank. Frank is still refusing any food. I continue with my slurry of crushed up fresh bugs (superworns, crickets & dubia roaches with a little butternut squash baby food to make it flow through the syringe). Brief history: Frank was...

    Frank needs your help!!

The history on this is: He was positive for both Pinworm and Coccidian. The Vet gave us Fenbendazole and Albon to treat him over the next 10 days (6 days for the Albon, 10 for the Fenbendazole). After the medication course was complete Frank was still not eating so I brought in another fecal...

    Frank needs your help!!

**poop pictures warning** Its been a week so I thought I’d give an update on Frank. He still refuses any type of food. I do feed him a slurry three times a week made of mashed up Superworms and a tiny bit of butternut squash baby food to make it all flow nicely from the syringe. It’s a delight...
