1yr old beardie just laid first infertile egg

Oh sorry for the late reply, life has been busy! I made the substrate deeper and she has been exploring it but not digging but she is in it often now, another good thing is that she is eating again and acting like her normal self

1yr old beardie just laid first infertile egg

Unfortunately I don't have a working camera right now, but the lay box in her enclosure is a rubbermaid tote and the substrate is around 5 and a half inches deep, I'll add a lot more substrate inside of it and make a tunnel and see if that encourages her. I'll work on getting a picture

1yr old beardie just laid first infertile egg

I set her lay box up with playsand and topsoil, she is glass surfing and when I let her out she'll show some digging behavior on the carpet and starts to run around crazy so I put her in the laybox that's in her enclosure she just surfs ontop of the bedding in there until she finds the exit then...

1yr old beardie just laid first infertile egg

Alright! Would aquarium sand work fine since thats all I have on hand for that at the moment, or does it have to be a special type of sand? I probably should've prepared better in hindsight

1yr old beardie just laid first infertile egg

So I've been expecting sunny to start laying infertile eggs since she is a little over a year old, last night she laid one and she has been really hesitant to eat anything the whole day and now I know why. She wont even eat her favorites, like dubias, and I know I need to get some extra calcium...

    No reaction to reflection?

Sunkist is about a year old and has yet to react to her reflection or other beardies at all. Like I got curious and showed her a mirror and she just laid on me with no care in the world, unbothered. When I first got her I had the impression that bearded dragons go ballistic if they see another...

    Stuck shed or something else?

So Sunkist has a few areas on her that look like to me some spots of old shed; ive tried almost everything to get this shed off as gently as possible but it refuses to budge and she does not like me touching the spots at this point. Ive gone through two bottles of shed ease and one bottle of...

    Glass surfing

Ill increase her temps; shes currently in a 40 but i do plan to upgrade her to a larger enclosure in the near future just trying to find the right style/brand, her uvb is uncovered, and she is not digging at all. She just is pressing her nose against the glass and tries to go forward;she doesn't...

    Glass surfing

I had never had a problem with Sunkist glass surfing all 9 months I've had her. She's usually a very relaxed bearded dragon, opting just to sit on your chest and chill instead of going and running around. Now when I hold her she just wants to jump off my chest onto the floor ( She hasn't...

Tail rot or just incomplete shed???

Has the portion of tail shown in the picture shed recently? Because it appears to be retained shed, bearded dragons shed in patches so its not uncommon for parts of the tail to shed at different intervals. Also sheds can vary slightly in color depending on the stage. To help her with shed you...

Bearded Dragons tail staying lighter long after shed

Sunkist my beloved, like any healthy young growing beardie sheds a lot, but after her most recent shed of her tail (a couple weeks ago) it was a lot more pale and that is typical for her then her tail turns back vibrant orange within a few days. This time around it stayed the pale color and I...

    Yellow fungus

No problem! My beardie when I rescued her from a pet store her tail tip was nearly black from being chomped on by one of her tankmates and she had very stuck shed on her tail so I know your worries very well, if you ever need any advice don't be a stranger. Oh and things to watch for if it is...

    Yellow fungus

It does look a little iffy but it could also be very thick stuck shed given it doesnt sound like he was in the best situation at the store. If it is stuck shed you can soak your little dude in some lukewarm water and gently brush at the area with a soft bristle toothbrush it may take a few...

Trouble getting my Dragon to switch from crickets to worms.

That's an interesting problem, you could try to mix the insects together, see if she snags a few worms in as she goes for the crickets. You could also try withholding crickets for a day and try giving her the worms the day after see if she will go for the worms then when shes a bit hungrier...

double checking on possible resp. infection?

I don't believe it was bathing that caused this then. The UVB is a little too close, if you can try to get it at least 6 inches away, any closer and it could eventually cause eye problems. There might be mucus in her throat so to help elevate some of her symptoms you try can propping her on a...

double checking on possible resp. infection?

That looks like a pretty serious RI to me, the low energy might be from her not feeling too well. Its good that she is eating but she isn't looking too hot so try to get her to the vet asap. If you don't know where a reptile vet is this site can help you find one near you! How humid is it in...
