Should I get my Beardy sand for enrichment?

You can try it, but do not have it near any place where you feed your beardie, or they might accidentally inhale some grains, which do not digest. Use a dig box that is away from the feeding areas of the tank so no sand can be inhaled. Unfortunately, I leaned this the hard way and my beardie had...

One eye open, one closed... what could it be?

He just started opening his left eye again! I think removing the night lamp might have helped.

One eye open, one closed... what could it be?

It’s a pretty simple setup and it covers the entire terrarium. I took the nightlight off because that might have something to do with his eye issues, but it is really strange that it is happening now... after 7 years with the same setup. It’s hard to see in the picture, but the closer light is...

One eye open, one closed... what could it be?

He has had that light setup for about 7 years now... his whole life. He has just started with these weird symptoms. It might now be the lighting, but I will still try to get that UVB listed.

One eye open, one closed... what could it be?

Yeah, I got the night light out of there. Is it okay if I use an ExoTerra UVB coil for the UVB lighting?

One eye open, one closed... what could it be?

We have been using this setup ever since we got him 6 years ago... One regular heat lamp about 50 watts A cooler UVB lamp on the collar side of the terrarium And a night lamp, which I have removed because the eye problems started showing up just two days ago. I am going to replace the night...

One eye open, one closed... what could it be?

Again, I am posting because of something I am worried about. My beardie has kept one eye open and one eye closed whenever I wake him, and I think it might be dehydration considering nothing is in his eye and there are no signs of infection. A little more information would help.

Please Help! Beardie hasn’t pooped for 3 months

I just gave him the pumpkin and he ate it well! After he tasted it, he didn’t resist as much because they like that flavor. Hopefully this works!

    Is this normal or MBD????

Hello, From what I can see, it doesn’t quite look like MBD, but I would take him to the vet just to be sure. Maybe, if you are comfortable, post a few more pictures of him from different angles. That would make it easier to tell.

Alright, thank you. I will try with a playing card to get his mouth open and slowly feed him some canned pumpkin as soon as I can.

Facts You Should Know Before Getting a Beardie

In brumation, beardies will sleep a lot more than usual, they won’t eat unless offered food ( which you shouldn’t do during brumation ), and don’t move around to much. This occurs during the winter. If your beardie doesn’t come out of brumation the way it should ( if it is really warm and they...

    Is his tail normal?

This doesn’t seem to be tail rot. I’ve seen this before, and it hasn’t been tail rot. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post more pictures of his tail, then the answer will be more clear. For now, I wouldn’t worry. Just keep us posted.
