Redness on tail - bruising or something else?

Hugo has some redness on his tail, is this bruising or something else? Was thinking possibly bruising as one of the two points is exactly where I spotted him with his tail accidentally caught in something the other day, but I don't want to assume anything (because I'm a paranoid parent).

    Sulfatrim - When to worry?

Thank you! It was originally 'very high' but I didn't ask for a count. It was then 16,000. And then in the most recent count was 2,000. The vet did ask if I thought he could tolerate some more treatment (due to lockdowns they're only doing physical appointments where absolutely necessary) and...

    Sulfatrim - When to worry?

I'm probably being paranoid. The last 2 days his rear legs seem much weaker, like he's timid to use them, but then when he actually does use them he seems to be moving fine to me. His poos are too big for him to be suffering an impaction I believe. Basking temps are 38 Celsius. He has calci...

    Sulfatrim - When to worry?

Thank you. I'll monitor him closely - he is only on 2 doses per week, so in reality he has around 5 doses total left until we hope he's at the end of the treatment. If he doesn't pick up somewhat in the next day or two I'll abandon this track entirely and give him a break (he has had little...

    Sulfatrim - When to worry?

Ponazuril is a myth in Scotland :) what damage does the sulfa drugs do? My worry is, given the absolute zero ways to get ponazuril, I'll give him a break but then require another 2 months back on sulfatrim at some point.

    Sulfatrim - When to worry?

Beardie has been on sulfatrim for what feels like forever. He started in October for very high coccidia. Measured again November, December, and now. Count has decreased significantly since the last one (from 16000 to 2000). Vet wants to go another 3 weeks and asked if I think he could tolerate...

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

Thanks, I managed to get a stick, expecting the stump tomorrow. Stick brings a point which is 14.5 inches from UVB, stump being delivered is a little higher.

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

Sorry, we don't have petsmart (Scotland), can you send me an example and I'll try to find our version? I have ordered him a large log which I hope will allow him to climb where required.

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

17 inches. Is this sub optimal (fix it soon), or dangerous (stop what I'm doing and find a way to fix it now.. current plan is to put a shoe box in there till I find a branch)

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

Thanks,I'm home now so this is a view of his current setup. Are you saying he also needs something higher to take him closer to the UVB tube? The Viv is 2ft high for context.

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

Here he is - This is lighting (it's inside tank - I'm out house at moment, so his viv has more decor now but light positioning is still the same - t5 goes around 75% of length of tank)

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

Thanks, because he's eating so little I have been offering him water via a dripper separately too. He does still seem very, very lethargic - is this something to worry about (we're on day 6 of him being rehomed)? Does he look healthy enough?

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

The UVB is a tube, Arcadia ProT5 and has a reflector. The basking bulb is also Arcadia, the basking temp is 39-40 celcius. I set using Habistat thermostat, and then have a digital thermometer to tell me/validate the thermostat. Also have another dig thermometer at the cool end which runs around...

Usual new owner paranoia, or something to be worried about?

I bought a baby last Thursday, around 12 weeks old. Thursday he eats immediately on arrival, don't think he even realises he'd relocated. Friday he ate nothing. Saturday managed to get some locusts in him. Sunday another few locusts and a mealworm (I know this shouldn't be a regular thing...
