New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

The problem is he attacks the glass so often. But thanks for giving me confidence. We moved him into our living room so that hopefully he will be distracted by us working and not his reflection. He does usually spend a fair bit of time around us. We got a heater set up that he will stop in front...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

No roaches in Canada. The phoenix worms he seems to not be interested in because they are too small. I guess we made the lazy mistake of just feeding crickets. And now he is bored of it. We only have access to worms as alternative. So it is more of a matter of superworms, mealworms or...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

Hello, It has been awhile. I would like to post an update and maybe share some extra concerns. So since the last time I posted, my baby has grown to be almost 20 inches now. I am estimating he is around 9 to 10 months old now. He loves hanging out with us and watching TV or hanging out with...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

A new update. He is eating a lot now. Much more regularly. We try and offer a mixed diet of crickets and phoenix worms everyday so he won't get bored with his meals. I am presently dusting the crickets with multivitamin for two mornings of the week. I also will dust them with the Calcium w/D3...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

Would the adult flies need to be dusted with calcium? I sort of just threw them in their plain to see if he would even go for them. They buzz quite a bit. Seems I am more keen on handling crickets and worms than flies... haha.

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

So I got a container with about 3 mature black soldier flies. Sort of spooked me in the morning. But I am wondering if its safe to give to my baby? I feel like they will have too had of a shell right now for him. But I also feel like he would love chasing them. They do fly in the air though...

Got it. He does a violent twitch of his head when I offer him the dandelion leaves. He really does not want to eat those greens. He seems to be okay with fruit so far though. We gave him a bit of papaya. The next thing to try will be squash. Still looking for Endives and Escarole and Mustard...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

So he is now eating much more regular. Still battling him to eat the greens. Saw many tricks where the greens are wet and he will lick the water off them when offered and eventually bite them. I try to give him his insects after he at least licks the salad. He likes to notify me that he is...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

So he loves blueberry, but I know it has the oxalates which are bad for calcium uptake so I will minimize it for the baby. But I think its a good step in him knowing that what I put in the dish is now considered food. I find he seems to wait often by the dish though in the hopes of food. My...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

Yeah I have disabled a few crickets yesterday and was surprised by how quick he gobbled them up. They are currently my way of dusting to get his multivitamin in right now. So I am trying to alternate the feeding between phoenix and crickets now for insect variety every few days. Phoenix worms...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

So today I fed his worms in the bowl with a salad but he just ignored the salad and at the worms. For lunch I decided to just throw in some blueberries to see what he would do. And he actually went down and nibbled on the blueberries and licked them. He didn't eat them all, but I think that is a...

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

The problem I face is the moist salad gives the worms traction to scale the bowl. Otherwise they are trapped. And the only exits they face is when I pick them out or when Toothless eats them.

New Bearded Dragon, Some New Owner Stress

He is much more active now too that he has food. He is exploring his tank a lot more for me and is licking everything. Thanks for the help. I think I can finally sleep and not worry about him. I took the worms out of his dish and moved the veggies to another dish on his cold side of the tank...

Cant in Canada. Crickets and BSFL is the best I can do I think. And I will be checking the local store for silk worms as well.
