    Poop, of course (and constipation)

I dust her superworms when I feed them, so 3-4x a week. Olive oil seems to help when I use it...but I wish it wouldn't get to that point!

    Poop, of course (and constipation)

Thanks, Karrie. Basking temps are good, measured with a probe and she has a tube UVB. I'll take a superworm break for a while. Should I be giving her more regular baths as well or not necessarily?

    Poop, of course (and constipation)

Hi, My 3-year-old dragon has started having issues with very hard urate causing constipation. She eats a bowl of salad every day (mix of green beans, kale, turnip greens, bell pepper, chard, etc), and then every other day I feed crickets (usually 6-10 large) and 5 superworms. For a while she...

Can Superworms and Superworms beetles live together?

I have had a successful superworm breeding operation going for about a year now, but I'm having issues with grain mites. I need to transfer my beetles somewhere temporarily while I remove and replace their substrate. I'm wondering if they can be in the same container with adult superworms for a...

    Sleeping More, Eating Less

Yup! And he is a she, it turns out! Her name is Benni. I'm not sure why I abbreviated it in my previous posts. I think she was responding to the changing seasons, because she slowed down for the winter and then bounced back as soon as it warmed up again. She is healthy and full of attitude & life!

    Superworm Breeding Question

Hi all, I just read through the very helpful and detailed guide to breeding superworms, and I have two questions: can my beetles get their moisture from cricket gel, or do they need fresh fruits or vegetables as a water source? If they can drink from the cubes, do they need fresh fruits and...

    Suddenly hiding all day

Okay, that's good to know. Thank you both for your input! I'll update if her behavior changes.

    Suddenly hiding all day

It's on top of the mesh screen, 8-9in from most parts of the basking rock/climbing equipment. It's a little farther away from the floor...maybe 10-11in but she doesn't spend much time off her toys

    Suddenly hiding all day

Thanks for checking! The uvb bulb is about 7 months old because I bought the wrong kind at first. It's advertised to last for a year but that could be it...I have another one I could test.

    Suddenly hiding all day

Yeah, I think the UVB is fine because someone went over the correct distance/setup with me when I first installed it and I haven't changed anything...she's probably just being lazy  I woke her up today and put her on her rock and she ate and stayed up until lights out. I'm just a worrier!

    Suddenly hiding all day

Hi all, Just this week, Benni (almost 11 months old) started keeping strange hours. I have her on a 9am to 9pm lights schedule and she normally takes about twenty minutes to wake up, come out of her hide, and bask on her own. In the last week she started staying in there for up to two hours in...

    Babies SHOULD eat their salads

Yeah I thought maybe it would be good to start limiting those... Thank you!

    Babies SHOULD eat their salads

Update/request for advice: 1) Benni is actually a girl. Oops! 2) She usually eats a bowl of salad in the morning and then snacks on a refill of greens throughout the afternoon. She's 9 months old and she's down to one feeding of insects at mid-afternoon each day. I start with gut-loaded...

    Babies SHOULD eat their salads

I've done a combination of the following: carrots, little pieces of broccoli stalk, bok choy, cilantro, bell pepper (yellow and green), non-lettuce leaves from a spring mix, and some date/apple pieces to tempt him. When I offer by hand he'll usually take an exploratory lick and then do his...

    Babies SHOULD eat their salads

Just want to clarify- how much of his salad should he eat before I start bugs again? He's snuck a few bites here and there but nothing substantial yet.
