    Feeding Schedule?

Happy update! Poppy only had a few bugs this morning but did eat more than she has been. She also ate great tonight! She was excited and ran over to the glass while I was getting the dubias ready. She then ate at least 10-12 roaches. Hopefully we're moving in the right direction and she'll...

    Feeding Schedule?

Thanks all! That makes me feel a little better. We have tried calciworms which she has eaten a few when offered. I'm thinking about ordering phoenix worms, but I have a TON of dubias. Lol And Karrie we have a 24" deep tank. I tried the 150w by itself and let it get warmed up, but the basking...

    Feeding Schedule?

Oh good it worked. So we have a T5 HO in the tube. The double dome has a 150w basking bulb and a 75w because our tank is too deep and the 150 wasnt getting the basking area hot enough. Now it's around 105-110. I have a temp gun and a probe thermometer. The cool side is consistently 79-80. She...

    Feeding Schedule?

Hey everyone, Our baby Poppy has been with us for 2 weeks now and we're still having problems with her eating dubia roaches. So I was curious what types of schedules other people have used with a baby beardie? I have read to feed them feeders 2-3 times daily, but also read a baby should eat 5-6...

    Keeping Greens Fresh?

Not sure about all greens, but we bought turnip greens a week ago. I cut them down into pieces and have been storing it in an air tight container in the fridge. It has been holding up well so far. I'm still a newbie to all this, but that has been working for us. Good luck! Sam

    Baby beardie with no appetite?

That's good to know. This container of dubias were a little on the bigger side for "smalls" but she still only eats a few. I'll watch and see as she adjusts over the next few weeks. Thanks! :)

    Baby beardie with no appetite?

So we've had our baby girl Poppy for about a week now. She wasn't super interested in the calciworms so I went to dubia roaches. She seems much more motivated to eat them initially, but after only a few she's done. It says they should eat 30-60 a day. We do 2 feedings a day and I'm lucky if I...

    New Beardie Mom

Hi! Thanks for the welcome! Our girl is Poppy (my son loves the movie Trolls lol). She is adorable and I just love her already. It's just all so new and I'm getting used to it. I'm very thankful for all the helpful advice from others on here! :)

    Humidity Question

Hey all! During the day when the lights are on the humidity in our tank is around 30-35 which is fine. At night though it goes up a little. We don't use a CHE because the temp stays in the 70s. Should I be concerned that humidity is in the 40s at night? Is there anything I should/can do?

    New Beardie Mom

Thanks all! It's a relief to know I'm not the only one that goes through the learning curve. I bought some dubia roaches today which I told myself at the beginning there was no way I was bringing roaches into my house. Our girl loved them though and gobbled them right up. She was starting to...

    New Beardie Mom

That is part of the problem though. So much information and so many opinions. Just trying to figure out what works best for my beardie and do right by her. And our current vet does exotics as well. So we're set there. Thanks!

    New Beardie Mom

Thanks for the recommendation! That was going to be my next try. I just want to give it another day to see if shes just being picky or still adjusting to her new surroundings. Now that the heat has been established I'm hoping to see some progress with feeding tomorrow. She did eat the calciworms...

    New Beardie Mom

Thank you all for the great advise! I added a 75w bulb to what I had set up and the basking spot warmed up to 100-110. She seems like a happy girl. Took a few greens, but still not very interested in the calciworms. We'll see how things go over the next few days! Thanks again! -Sam

    New Beardie Mom

Based on what I've researched I think the tank is around 65 gallons due to the height. I think that is the reason the bulb is not putting off enough heat. The highest my digital probe thermometer has detected is 95 degrees with the probe directly on the basking area. My infrared gun should be...
