I'm using a reptisun basking light (100w? Not sure, it gets his spot to the right temps in any case). I planned on trying to move the UVB lamp to another spot. Thanks for your suggestions.

Red bulbs are new and came well after he started having issues. As stated in my OP, I am using the Reptisun 10 UVB bulb. I didn't see any mention here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=148006 about an "HO" version, but I do have the exact bulb that's mentioned in this post.
