Possible new beardie is missing foot

Thanks! The breeder hinted someone else may be interested in him so I'll not bother. Either pushing me to buy before someone else does or is legit. I'm really wanting an adult to get past that "feed me, seymor!" stage.

Possible new beardie is missing foot

Is there any reason not to get a dragon (5mos or so old) who is missing entire foot? What health concerns would the stump cause?

    Opinions on tank

True! That beast is tough to lean into and reach the bottom. Is there an already produced 4x2x2 tank for reptiles? I went to PetSmart yesterday and they had an Exo Terra large which is 36x18x18. It was $189USD. Anything bigger would cost more. I'm sure I can make something for less than that.

Requirements to make a naturalistic substrate and habitat

Thank you so much for this information! I live in the Great Smoky Mountains (part of the Appalachian Mountains) so I see green everywhere. Went to Phoenix once. It was 113F / 45C. I'll take my humidity, thank you! What plants would you suggest would work in a dragon tank? I've read the aloe is...

    Stand For Enclosure?

I'm a big fan of Simpson Strong Ties. They're metal brackets of various varieties and purposes but their line that holds 2x4s are what I have used the most. I have used them to build my desk, a table, the small back deck and the dog ramp off of it. The brackets hold the wood by either having...

    New owner of 2 dragons.

I would love to rescue an adult and skip over the eating frenzy of a baby. But I can't find any local and most rescues don't ship. I'm still looking!

    Opinions on tank

I realized that is the exterior dimensions. I was alone when I measure and the tape measure wasn't cooperating very well. The more I think about it, the more I think I will be building an enclosure. That tank is so freakin' heavy and long. Have to build a stand for it anyway. Once in place, it...

    Opinions on tank

I had some from back when I first got it but dang, I can't find them! I'll take some more as soon as I get the stuff in front of it moved. We got a hollow core door to put on the top with the intention of using it for storage. It's leaning against it so the tank is hidden.

    Opinions on tank

I have a 162 gallon tank. I got it years ago for a koi but we twisted it getting it out of the truck and it cracked. You can't feel the crack but it won't hold water. The tank measures 73"w x 19"d x 27"h. Thoughts? - I can have one dragon with a lot of room. I can put in a divider and have 2...

Best material use to as a separator

I have a similar situation. I have a really long tank and realized I could put in two if I used divider. If I used silicone to keep the wood in place, how long would I need to wait before adding a dragon? (in regards to smell and/or off-gassing)

    BSFL from compost to dragon?

Yay! :blob5: That makes it easier. Gets rid of our plant based compost, feeds chickens, AND my dragon!

    Online Crickets?

Friend of mine got her crickets from Ghann's Crickets. The Dirty Job show did one there. http://www.ghann.com/

    BSFL from compost to dragon?

I read the how to on the black soldier fly larvae. That's how to fatten them up vs create them. Can I start a "colony" of them in a compost grower and feed them to my dragon? It would be non-fat, veggie/fruits scraps only compost. No grass or whatever. I have a friend with chickens who said she...

    Starting the process

I'm starting the process to get my first reptile. I research things to death almost. I read about the BSFL so researched them and will be rolling my own (even if I don't get a bearded). A friend of mine has chickens and said she will take any surplus so bonus. Funny thing is I was starting...
