I'm not sure if my beardie is brumating or dead

One thing that really jumped out at me was the OP stated the dragon smelled like eggs. Egg smell is usually caused by sulfur. So then I found this: When globulin begins to decay, a toxic chemical is released that's called hydrogen sulfide, which has that very potent sulfur smell. ... Both of...

Need help naming my new baby!

I use an organic triple washed spring mix about once a month during the summer. There’s so many greens in it, the “lettuce” is pretty minimal. When I tear it into pieces, it’s easy to toss the few leaves of lettuce to the bugs instead along with harsher stems. It’s easy for travel and limited...

    Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) ok?

It would be nice to find a good list of safe wild plants too, maybe we could coax an expert on making one? lol I live in a National Forest and Dovah wants to taste everything, which would be safe from pesticides, but maybe not so edible.

    Baby beardie won't eat

Super adorable! Doesn’t look like she’s lacking for food any with her baby belly. ?

    Hello :)

I agree, his first photo home looks a little skinny. The other may have been beating him to the food. The second pic he looks a bit more round. He’s adorable!

Beardie Acting Strange!! And Shedding strange?

Alduin! Love the name! My dragon’s name is Dovah. ? What type of tank and lights do you have? What is his diet and temperatures in the cage? Shed can happen in patches as babies. Sometimes it takes several days for some shed to come off. Just don’t try to remove it early. If it seems stuck...

    Waving and curling tail

Sometimes they will curl them for balance or whatever, I don’t think it is that big of a deal.

    Baby beardie not adjusting

Everything looks and sounds okay. Paper towel is fine for when he gets older too. Maybe try taking a couple sheets off on the side facing the room so he can watch your activities and maybe try placing him on his basking spot, maybe he doesn’t realize it is there. If this continues, I would...

    Waving and curling tail

I agree, he is probably a she and waving in submission to her “friend.” Make sure to offer appropriate greens now before she gets older and needs greens, but won’t eat them.

    White lump on chest, spreading?

He has quite the cute dragon belly!

    Recent loss of limb strength??

The red is likely from the food, which is fine. Your tank looks great and sounds like you are doing an amazing job with everything. Maybe it was damage done beforehand or like the guy said, neurological. Either way, you’re doing as much as you can and it’s people like you who ensure happy dragons.

11 month(?) the size of 3 month old

Sometimes UVB lights can be rocket science to someone not used to them. I know it felt like that for me when I started reading. You can take away the supers and offer another live bug. She won’t starve, she may “go on strike” for a day or two, but she will come around to the alternative...

    Spot on Tail, Help!!

I think Terry is right. Looks like stuck shed. Dragons can be moody when shedding because it’s itchy and annoying. A soft brushing in some warm bath would help. Dovah scratches himself on a log often to get the itches.

    muscle man?

He looks great to me! Some dragons are just built differently. Exercise is a great way to keep a healthy dragon. Good job on the variety of activities.

    Unexpected death and seeking help

Maybe Mushu got some water in his lungs? It may have not had anything to do with what you guys were routinely doing. No red (or any colored) lights or heating pads though. Just a basking light and the tube UV are great. Calcium and a multivitamin on live food is ideal for dragons. (Not at the...
