I think the end is near

Here are a couple of pics from today and the one in the towel is after a long soak and drink last night. His enclosure is super basic. That bowl in the middle is actually our attempt at adding some moisture to his tank. He has clogged pores. He always has. But vets have never wanted to do...

I think the end is near

I have an 11? year-old dragon who has really slowed down over the past few months. His eyesight is terrible and he will not eat on his own. We have been syringe feeding him Beardie Buffet, Grub Pie, or Critical Care. He will usually lap it up pretty well for me, but not really for anyone...

    Help please!!!

The T5 bulbs are much stronger and you may be able to put it on top of the screen depending on how far away it will sit from the dragon. UVB can be so tricky. I don't have the exact stats off hand but I got the info from a facebook group called reptile lighting. :)

    Help please!!!

Is the Reptisun the long tube version? That is the one you want. I know they make a compact 10.0 but it is not so good. This the one you want -...

    Liquid Calcium

Hi Tracie - sorry it took me so long to get back after you responded. Life is moving at break-neck speed. But I would love to know the dose for my dragon. He is 235 grams. :) I have never sent a PM here but I will figure it out and send you my email. Thank you!

    Liquid Calcium

My beardie, Sunshine, is about 6 months. I have some Reptical with D along with Herptivite. I understand that he needs his bugs dusted 5 times a week. But it always makes such a mess dusting the roaches. I also have some liquid calcium for Bug-de-lite that I used for a sick adult dragon that...

    where to buy dubia roaches?

www.dubideli.com is doing some major specials right now. They only last a 2-3 days and are sort of random but the one I just ordered was 1000 1/4 inch dubia and 100 1inch dubia for $25. $7 bucks to ship no matter what else you add to the order. This was my second order from them. They have...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

I am sad to report that our sweet little Page Turner did not make it. The vet came in to check on her at 10pm and she had moved around a little so she thought maybe she was a bit better. But come morning she was gone. She was just too weak. The vet was really nice and sympathetic. They...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

Took her to the vet today. I was afraid she wasn't going to make it. Two days ago she was skinny but I could get baby food in her and she would climb a vertical log. Today I had to keep flipping her over to try to wake her up to get her to clear the food I had put in her cheek for her to eat...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

Forgot to add and I don't know how to edit... I haven't gotten a fecal sample yet. When I got home from work yesterday I had to clean up like 5 poops from the tank. I don't know whose is whose. But I think it is safe to say that both are pooping.

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

So I think she seems perkier. She still closes her eyes sometimes but maybe not as much. I cannot get her to eat on her own but she has been much more willing to eat the baby food chicken/squash mixture. I have to gently pull down the side of her cheek and put some in there. Then she will...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

Lol! I like your thinking. Never thought I would be a lizard person but a friend had one and he grew on me (and my youngest son). So we got a sub-adult last spring. My son actually used his birthday money to buy him. :). He really wanted a lizard. And this fall we added the babies. I didn't...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

Oh goodness, I don't intend to keep them in there forever. Considering building a long custom enclosure that opens from the front. Our tanks sit about 3 feet off the ground and my kids have to use a mini step ladder to get into our big guy's tank and sometimes even the smaller tank if the...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

Thanks for your reply and sorry I didn't get back sooner. We were out last night and then slammed with a snowstorm. "The little girls" as we call them, are in a 20L for now. They have a 75W basking light and they had a twisty CFL UVB bulb but I have a Reptisun 10.0 now. Hindsight is 20/20...

Way too skinny and basking with eyes closed

So we got a couple of new baby dragons. The first seems quite fine, she is growing and chomps down on crickets and salad pretty well most days. She is going through her first shed. Then there is the second dragon. We got her about 3 weeks after the first and she is a bit younger. While I...

    How much to feed?

We have a dragon who is about 14 months. We have had him about 6 weeks. He loves his protein - perks right up as soon as a superworm or cricket is put in his tank. (We feed him predominantly supers these days). It is clear his greens are his least favorite. He also loves that Flukers...

UVB Burned Out - What Replacement Should I Get?

Just found your getting started section with bulb recommendations! Awesome! However, I think I now need a new screen top. The tank came with a lid that is mostly plastic with enough area to hold about 3 domes. I don't think I can fit a long light and his basking bulb.

UVB Burned Out - What Replacement Should I Get?

So my UVB burned out today after a month of use. It was a coil bulb that came with the tank set-up. I have read on here that you recommend other things but I can't seem to find the exact answer to my question. What should I get? (It is a 40 gal tank with a sub adult in there.) Ideally, what...
