The tip of my beardie’s tail has looked different recently. Up until today, she had a black sand-size dot at the tip and it is no longer there. Her tip just doesn’t look normal to me. I am just worried it could be the start of something serious. Thoughts?

So I was handling by beardie and one thing led to another. A lone scale that was in the process of shedding came off and it clearly was not ready. Attached is the result. Should I be worried? What can I do to make sure no further damage or risk to her health happens?

I asked a question to see if bearded dragons, as they get older, bask less. If you are unable to answer the topic at hand, you could have just said that, or said nothing at all.

Is your dragon eating? Not basking can be a sign something is wrong, it’s just not something to jump to unless other signs are present.

After about a month or so, she went back to being her old self. She is perfectly healthy and eats like a champ and has good weight on her too. The funny part about this? She is doing it again lol. She will bask for an hour in the morning now and then go hide and sleep. She won’t eat her salad...

Thanks. Definitely have had my eye on the Jungle dawn. I wanted to see I can keep the plants alive first lol. The 5+ feet of basking space is definitely a pain with heating and It’s proven to be a constant challenge as the weather changes daily here.

Yea I was thinking about changing out the 4 basking bulbs to all DHP. My concern with doing this was making sure I still had enough UVA. I know my 2 UVB Lights (6 feet in total) give off 30% UVA and 10% UVB). So removing my incandescent basking bulbs would reduce the UVA in the habitat. I do...

What’s your thoughts if I replace all my incandescent basking bulbs and use T5 grow lights, for the light source? (Obviously in addition to UVB). Any downside to this?

Sounds about right. She shed her feet in toes about 2 weeks ago and based on the last time she did, her body shed is coming up. You hear about yellow fungus and I just assumed the worse as it was yellow-ish. Thank you for the reply.
