    Help! Superworm lost in enclosure

I was feeding a superworm to my 3yr old beardie just now and it wriggled out of the chopsticks and burrowed into my substrate (50-50 topsoil and sand mix). I can't find it now. I was wondering if I could just leave it in there, or will it be an issue? I'm concerned about the little guy too and...

    Feedback on diet?

That's funny haha the holding-off-bugs strategy is actually what I'm doing now, for the last week! Before she wouldn't eat a single piece of salad, so we had to do this. She's very responsive to it and has been eating ~4 leaves every day for the past couple of days. I'm very proud of her and I...

    Feedback on diet?

Hey y'all, I'm sorry for clogging up the forum with my posts tonight but I really want to review how well I'm taking care of by 3yr old beardie, Ginger. I've heard that adult dragons' diets should be 80% greens and 20% protein. Ginger always didn't seem to have that much of an appetite. Her...

    Beardie not thermoregulating?

I'll try to aim for 105 for now, since I'm mostly testing to see if she will move if it's too hot and it's my enclosure being too cold that's the problem. On a side note - how often do you measure your temps?

    Beardie not thermoregulating?

For UVB we're using the arcadia 12% T5, placed 10 inches away over mesh. It covers around 3/4 of the enclosure and over the basking spot.

    Beardie not thermoregulating?

It's worth a try. I'll bump up the temps to 105-110 to see if she moves.

    Beardie not thermoregulating?

My 3 yr old beardie is not moving from her basking spot (a hammock). She's been doing this behavior for a couple weeks now. The temps are hot enough - around 36C measured with a probe. However, she stays on the hammock all day and doesn't want to move even after basking after eating. When we...

    Beardie nervous?

Sounds good. After 5 mins, do I simply place her back in the tank? And I'm guessing I extend this amount of time little by little, until she's comfortable staying for an extended period of time?

    Beardie nervous?

Hello all, My 3 year old female beardie seems to get nervous whenever we look at her. Her eyes go huge and she twitches/straightens up. She's completely fine with being handled and moved around, but I suppose she doesn't enjoy it. How can I get her more comfortable with eye contact/our...

How to properly measure temperatures/UVB distance?

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Are the temperatures you suggested (38-42ish for basking to high 20s for cool) based on measurements from a probe thermometer placed onto a surface?

Are these succulents/grasses suitable for enclosure?

Hi guys, I wanted to add some live plants to my beardie’s enclosure to fill up space. I heard that certain succulents and grasses are suitable for enclosures (edible and able to withstand temps/UV). I went to Home Depot today and found these, although I have trouble identifying what plants they...

How do you guys feed crickets?

I use the repashy too lol sprinkled on. And feeding the bugs with stuff beardies refuse to eat is a great idea - my girl can finally have some alfafa sprouts and endive lol. Thank you guys for your replies and helping me make a decision

How do you guys feed crickets?

How wonderful! I might invest in one of those handy inventions - although I do plan to throw a few into the enclosure, just so she can hunt. I assume dubias need to be gut-loaded too?

How do you guys feed crickets?

Thank you guys for the reply. I might invest in dubia roaches - the thing is I'm in Canada where they are illegal, and getting your hands on them could be difficult and expensive. How often do you need to clean their storage tote? Do they poop everywhere? If they have difficulty climbing, I...

How do you guys feed crickets?

We usually feed our 2 yr old girl ~5 gutloaded crickets 3-4 times a week. The thing is, we need to constantly remove and put back the decor every time there is a feeding. The crickets are so active and jump around onto various surfaces and into nooks and crannies, and our beardie struggles to...

Beardie doesn't like being outside the tank?

That's actually one of the things we do haha...we have a pile of pillows near the window that we place a UV tube and heat lamp over. She'll want to stay there as long as possible, 8+ hours if she wants. But I'm wondering, should we let her roam more instead of just keeping her in one place? How...

    Gulping + Occasional wheezing?

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll raise the decor to 8-10" inches away.

    Gulping + Occasional wheezing?

Oh sorry, I misunderstood haha. I have the arcadia 12% T5 at 12 inches away. Still trying to get the hang of the lighting vocabulary. Is that similar to 10.0, and acceptable?

    Gulping + Occasional wheezing?

She's breathing about the same, still gulping. She was climbing something yesterday and I heard a wheezing noise. I'm quite worried - I set up a checkup with the vet on their earliest possible date which is the 16th. I'll raise the temperatures in the meantime. I am using a digital probe...

    Gulping + Occasional wheezing?

Hi Karrie, I have the 5.0. Would my current distance be ok?
