    Gulping?

Khonshu is still active as of this morning. He (I'm assuming boy for now) woke up with the lights and has moved into the basking spot. Unfortunately, he is still doing the mouth thing several times over the course of a few minutes. Sometimes it's just a puff where he just seems to gulp... Other...

    Gulping?

I had posted about this dragon on another thread, but now this seems more urgent... My wife and I adopted a baby red dragon (Khonshu) on Saturday. He/she is likely just over a month old, weighing only 2 grams. When we got the dragon home, I noticed that the tip of the tail was black and...

    Possible Tail Rot?

Hello all, I just got a new bearded dragon on Saturday (Khonshu) after my last little guy (Drax) passed away. Upon bringing him home I noticed that he may have a bit of tail rot on the tip of his tail. I wanted some other opinions on this, please see attached pictures. I have started home...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

He is still alive, but I really don't understand how at this point. He is pretty rigid and can't move even his head at this point. His breathing is normal... and when I am able to get his mouth open (it is locked pretty tight), I can get him to have a few drops of slurry. This is just insane...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

He is still the same (too weak to move). It's tough to say for certain if he is reacting poorly to the baytril since he was seemingly nearing the end before he took it. He did start black bearding maybe a little more ever since I started him on it, but it's tough to say for sure. I have been...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I do live near UGA, which does have vet teaching hospital... Unfortunately, they are not really able to do anything special as they are very short staffed at the moment. My vet did work with them for the original diagnosis (likely not correct), but at this...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Hi Karrie, Tracie has been working on Drax's case for a while now. She has been awesome! Just looking to see if additional folks may have additional ideas as it seems as though we are running out of time and we are still a bit stumped on what is going on with this poor little guy. Chris

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Hi all, Looking for a hail mary diagnosis here... Drax never really improved. He would get slightly better for a couple weeks, then regress. As of now he is limp and incredibly weak (can't really move any limb). It really looks like I am running out of time to figure out what is going on...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Another update on Drax: He regained use of his left arm last week. He still had a limp, but seemed to be improving. Then, this morning I woke up to his right arm being paralyzed.... Obviously, this is not an injury at this point. Any ideas?

    Sick Bearded Dragon

I have lowered his basking area and placed towels all over to ensure gradual slopes in his habitat. Over the past week his leg has SLOWLY improved. He went from it being completely limp/paralyzed to now being able to walk on it (with a bad limp). He is eating more and more every day! TONS of...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

As of today, his left front arm is completely paralyzed. He drags it when he moves and it is very limp. It was nice out today so I put him in the grass to get some sunshine. I noticed that his paralyzed arm was twitching... Attached is the video. Thoughts?

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Thank you for the response! He had just gotten his appetite back after not eating on his own for months (he actually took some greens from me this morning). Is there anything else other than injury that could cause this? The vet seems to think that this could be neurological... It just...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

To add to this: He had taken a fairly bad fall a couple days ago (I believe Monday evening) while scratching the glass from atop his basking rock. It was bad enough that I looked him over to make sure he was okay. He seemed to shake it off and was moving fine afterwards. These walking issues...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Everything was trending in the right direction, then randomly he started having issues walking again... He has a severe limp that seemed to start over night. Basically his walking is so bad he isn't willing to move. Do you have any theories? It seems weird that hypocalcemia would cause this...

I agree! Thank you for the advise on that BTW. Hoping this great progress continues :)

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Today Drax took a huge step... he ate greens from my hands (3 big pieces)! This is the first time since December 23rd that he has eaten (not including from a syringe). He has definitely been improving ever since I made the switch to the Zilla liquid calcium. Hopefully this progress continues! Chris

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Just an update to all: Drax seems to be improving. He is certainly better today than he was this time last week. Along with his walking/posture going back to normal, the tremors have become less frequent... I actually didn't see him do it at all yesterday, though his body does vibrate a bit...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Yeah, the blood results showed him having poor calcium levels (1:1 ratio with phosphorus). Strange that all these neuro symptoms didn't really start until I began treating the hypocalcemia (in the last week). Maybe just a coincidence... The vet said based on what I have been giving him an...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Hi all, I noticed a new concerning symptom.... he now occasionally has head tremors. These tremors are more like subtle vibrations that last a couple seconds and happen every few minutes... This isn't Drax, but it looks identical to this: Strangely, when I hold him in my hand, it is almost...

I am attaching a second video showing him walking crooked as well... and another picture to show the strange "upright posture" I mentioned...
