    50/50 sand and topsoil?

Nothing more than licking, and if its hard he normally spits it out, even small rocks and stuff. the little pieces of wood are all I'm a bit worried about, i feel like he could mistake them for worms.

    50/50 sand and topsoil?

I am adding a 50/50 mix of play sand and topsoil to some of reggies cage. I mixed it up a few days ago, and am now waiting for it to dry. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of what the substrates supposed to look like or if someone could tell me how the texture and colors supposed to be...

    Feeding during storms

I live in a state being hit by the storms right now. So far we have not lost power, but I'm not sure if that's gonna stick. I'm a bit worried about feeding him because I'm worried if he eats and then it goes out he won't be able to digest it. I don't live where the tornadoes are a super big...

    Loose Substrate

I gave Reggie a dig box a few weeks ago, and hes loved it. I'm now wanting to do a third or a half of his enclosure with loose substrate. I used australian desert sand for the substrate but thats too expensive to keep using. I want to do a 50/50 mix of play sand and top soil. Are there any...

    Growth questions

Omg that's so weird. I've had him since he was 6 weeks, and he's never been in any sort of accident with it. The only thing I can think of is after I got him there was a tiny black tip on his tail that I thought was either stuck shed or tail rot. I put antibiotic ointment or something like that...

    Growth questions

My bearded dragon Reggie is 2 years and a few months now. I understand they stop growing mostly between a year and a half and two. Do they continue to grow slightly any longer than that? I'm not worried he's underweight, he just seems a bit small compared to one's I see. When I go to pet stores...

Other than a few licks when I first put it in he has not tried, so I'm hopeful he's old enough now to have sand.

    New setup

I re did reggies cage yesterday, and gave him a dig box for the first time. After posting on here a couple times, I decided to use Australian desert sand. So far, he really likes it! He's not trying to eat it, and he's been digging in it. I've had trouble finding enrichment for him, normally he...

    Desert sand

Also I'm having a hard time finding smaller bags of both, and I'm worried I'll get a lot and it will end up going to waste, so the desert sand seems easier.

    Australian desert sand

So just to be clear, if I buy play sand, how do I introduce it to his encloser? Does it need water, or to be misted sometimes? How often should I clean/change it?

    Australian desert sand

Ohhh the soil being for real plants makes sense. The mixing sounds like a good idea, thank you, I'll be looking into both!

    Australian desert sand

Ok thank you for saving me that money then lol. With play sand, everyone I see mixes it with soil. Is that something I'd need to do or is just straight play sand fine?
