    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

Yes, my 36" Reptisun 10.0 just came in yesterday. Want to hear something funny.....when my lights all kicked on this morning, my 2+ year old Megaray SB160 bulb went "pop" and went out! I replaced it with the 150W halogen light I bought to put in place of the MVB for the basking heat/light...

Frances, Does this one look ok? http://www.homedepot.com/Lighting-Fans/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbvn5/R-202938509/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 It has a cord, an on/off switch, and I'd need to remove the diffuser. Thank you, Frank

Thank you for the info! I ordered it last night, so I hope it works well. The safety was my main concern.

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

Frances, You are a life saver. I was so excited that I thought I had found the right one. The saleperson specifically told me that it took 36" T8 bulbs. It didn't cleary say on the package, so I went with what he said. I just opened it and you are totally correct. Good thing, I can return it...

Natural Chemistry Reptile Healthy Habitat "Cleaner"

I am on petmountain.com to buy my new Reptisun 10.0 bulb and saw this cleaner: http://www.petmountain.com/product/reptile-bacteria-cleaners/11442-504976/natural-chemistry-reptile-healthy-habitat.html Does this look ok to use in my BD enclosure? Does anyone have experience using it? Good/bad?

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

I found what I think is a very high quality, single T8 bulb fixture at Home Depot today. This comes in all different lengths, but I bought the 36" length for our 5' long enclosure. The corded model was $55, but from the saleperson and everything I read at the store, this has a very good ballast...

Kalyn: Is this the one you're talking about? This is the only Zoo Med Reptisun fixture I can find online...

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

How do I know what is a good quality ballast when I'm looking at light fixtures? There has to be something more than just price. Kalyn, do you have a link to the one you like so much that is good quality? Thanks again.

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

Thank you. So would you say that I should look for one that has a high quality electronic ballast and NOT a magnetic or soft start ballast?

zilla desert uvb 50 light strip, a great deal!!

"No flicker when it turns on" has nothing to do with the bulb. That is the light fixture/ballast in the light fixture. The light fixture you have would turn on any bulb the same way. Ever since I found out that the MVB's are no longer a good, safe option, I've been reading and studying as...

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

Thank you Frances! My large enclosure is very bright as it is. I have three standard light fixtures and one three foot double fluorescent tube fixture with just bright daylight (no uvb). So I get from the previous info to not get a cheap "Walmart" fixture. Is it better to get a "shop light"...

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

*BUMP* Does anyone know of a high quality single bulb fixture for Reptisun 10.0 either the 36" / 25 Watt bulb or the 48" / 32 watt bulb? (I haven't decided which length to use yet) After seeing the widely varying UVB outputs using the same bulb in different fixtures, I really want to be sure...

Here is the owners manual http://ca-en.hagen.com/File/20b2c433-c32a-4160-8a72-4cd91b557767 It looks like they suggest/require using two bulbs at once.

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

Excellent, thank you for the great recommendation. Let us know if it will work for just one bulb. Because our 150+ gallon enclosure is so big, I will be mounting the UVB tube down inside along the back wall to get it to the proper 6-8" distance from his basking site. I already have three...

    I FOUND ARCADIAS!

How do we go about finding/buying a "good quality" fixture for the standard T8 bulbs that we know will provide the proper UVB output needed for our dragons? Does anyone have a suggestion or a link to a specific "good quality" fixture model that someone has tested and found to be putting out the...

Megarey MVB SB bulbs are back in stock

Ok, it's sounds like switching to Reptisun 10.0's is the safest and most cost effective way to go for now. I'm sure the Arcadia T5 HO bulbs are great because of the long history in the UK, but it sounds like we need a lot of R&D time before we can know how they'll be in fixtures run here in the...

Megarey MVB SB bulbs are back in stock

Which ones did you get? Any problems? I read in another thread that somebody bought a new one and it burnt out immediately. *I have had the Mega-Ray SB160 MVB's for years and was just going to get a new one because the one I have is over 1.5 years old. (still working) *Then I read about all of...

Megarey MVB SB bulbs are back in stock

I've been trying to get a reply to e-mails and phone calls for months! I want them to assure me that all of the issues are taken care of, that they are safe for our BD's again, and that they'll last/provide a healthy level of UVB for at least a year.
