Small pinch bug with stinger in with Roaches?

Odd question.... I got stunger/bit by a little bug that was in with the roaches. It had pinchers on it's head and a stinger on the tail. The tail may have been used to suck blood... as it bleed when I grabbed it. And the bite itches now. It wasn't an earwig, but was light grey with black...

    Breading soldier flies (phoenix worms)?

The only thing I've seen is the biopod: http://www.thebiopod.com/. If you are handy enough, you may be able to rig your own. I've got silkworms and roaches going now. I think if I added PWs, that would push my wife over the edge :blob5:

May start a roach colony... need some advice

I'm still working on getting mine going, but the female are suppose to produce about 20 to 30 babies a month. My small beardies that are only a few month old would wipe that out in a day easily. For male to female ratio, I'm heard 1 to 3 to as low as 1 to 10. Basically, you don't need that...

Anybody grow their own mulberry for silkworms?

I ended up getting the tree at the nursery as well. Turns out it's about 9 feet tall, and that was the small one. I have a lot of room in my yard, and we like a variety of trees... so not a big deal. But if you want to control the size, you're better off with the seeds. Plus for $3.. who...

Ok *gulp* Im gonna take the plunge next week...

As far as handling, I use Jason's bucket method (http://theroachguy.com/caresheet.htm). I then go one step further and sort the males from female. Most of the males go to food. When my beardies see me go for the roach bin, the run to the glass and wait. They rarely wait for me even to pour...

Anybody grow their own mulberry for silkworms?

To funny, my moths just finished breeding. I just bought seeds from http://www.alchemy-works.com/morus_alba.html. It was a fraction of the price of some silkworm sites. I also found out that my local nursery has white mulberry in stock, so I'm going to swing over there today.

    Tail of a Dragon

Drake is doing very well. He seems to be enjoying his bath time, thanks for that suggestion. He's eating like a horse and pooping daily. His own tank is almost done, which is good because he is EXTREMELY active... making up for lost time I guess :D

    Tail of a Dragon

About 5 or 6 months ago, my beardie escaped from a mesh enclosure. Although we searched for days, he was no where to be found. My garage (Man Cave) was not exactly the most organized either. Today I was setting up a new enclosure for my feeders to keep them warmer. I was cleaning up the...

Thanks all. Hopefully others have read this and realized they had the same situation, and then fixed it. New beardie on the way soon. My son has been asking constantly

    WARNING!!! Sand and heavy objects

Hard way to learn, but the wood was ON TOP of the sand. It was only about an inch and a half, but he had been burrowing little tunnels under. My guess is that it created a pivot point that slid just enough to pin a baby. Mental note, push it ALL the way down to the floor. :banghead:

    WARNING!!! Sand and heavy objects

There is some debate as to the use of sand or not. I've only read about the possibility of impaction, but there is another danger. I came home to find that my dragon had burrowed under a log and it had pinned him... to death

    Best CHE?

Thanks. The zilla has a good price, and that was the one I was looking at. Zoomed was a little cheaper, but Flukers was A LOT more.

    Best CHE?

I see a lot of posts recommending the use of a CHE. However not a lot of brands mentioned, and if they are it's usually followed by "not the best, but..." So, what is the best CHE for quality and price? Thanks
