your opinions will be mixed on my return. mwa huhaaha. i know theres a few that missed me. But, since ive been gone, my opinions have changed and evolved an incredible amount through a bunch of experiences and many different reptiles. since i strayed from Bd.org i established a few of...

    Trouble breeding...need some advice/tips

if she is dominant, dont house them together. while your not there she will dominate, he will become submissive and they will never breed. a quick meeting to get the deed done with you making her submissive should do the job. otherwise he will never be game enough to try her.

    Trouble breeding...need some advice/tips

she sounds dominant. it sounds mean.. but, gently 'pinch' her nape. and hold her down. (literally a sign domination, to force her into submission.) then bring out the male. if she holds her head high, flares, gapes of bobs rapidly. simply hold her down. she will learn, naturally, that she is...

    Sand on the Eggs

probably best to lightly dust the sand off... could grow some mould. dont worry, they arent that fragile. you can pick them up and candle them throughout development. watch them grow. dont be shy!!! just dont roll them too much.

    Sparky is gone

I dont think the little sparkster will ever leave you. Everytime one of them acts up, mopes, begs for a handfed worm, gives a sweet little smile, that 'oh momma, we're going to the vet again?' expression... and gives you that special look that makes you realize, they know your helping...

you will find i did mention conservation and protected areas. and this very comment holds my opinion on conservation. we SHOULD leave these places alone, let the natural balance re-populate. it does happen by its self.

not true. the animals are perfectly capable and comfortable in natural sunlight. its the artificial globes that emit low amounts of visible light. the problem is poor eyesight, and catching prey. they are tweeser fed. i didnt know there was anyone outside of Aus producing Albino beardies...

    healthy breeding.

Tim, as ive told you and im sure you know. in our country there is very little to nothing i can do to preserve native fauna, except donate money to those in the rare opportunity to do it legally. in your country, its perfectly legal for you to pilage fauna from the bush, and breed hybrids and...

    healthy breeding.

i stand by my personal veiws. as above on evoltution. would a hole in the whales head have been an initial positive or negetive? i dont beleive having no tubercles is a positive for the animal. but i dont think it has a high negetivity in a captive environment. same as curly hair on a dog.

    healthy breeding.

again im late for work, so ill be quick and come back later and post deeper. Rosebud, one point i want to emphasize. is it is ludicrous to assume there isn't any leathers in the wild. with over six examples of leathers produced in captive environment. two of which i know are totally unrelated...

    healthy breeding.

LOL. that had me laughing SO incredibly hard. how do you know? do you know for certain that your collards hybridise as much as your making them? or will your breeding colony of spiny Ig's breed in close groups as your captive 'colony' is making them? there are hundreds of thousands, possibly...

    healthy breeding.

theres no reason other then chance that a leatherback wont be produced in the wild. multigenerational individuals can produce them. why not in the wild? Agreed that silkbacks would not be present in the wild. the scales act as protection and disguise. you wouldn't find a poodle in the forrest...

thats the thing, you DONT need to breed a silk, just two leathers. (be them unrelated, no inbreeding is necessary) well, with a reptisun10.0 giving out 60 uWcm2. i highely doubt even this much Uvb will harm the animal, having no chunky protective tubercles. considering you could choose a bulb...
