    Basking temp confusion

I've read, and been told by a breader, that his basking temp should be about what, 105-110F for a juvie? I raised it to this but then he won't go there. At 100F he's there all the time. At shows I see the dragons basking with mouths opened and my guy never does that. So what's the right...

    Bad gecko! And ?

Thanks for the info! Since I first posted this topic she has gotten better. We added more calcium dust to her diet and put some in the tank for her. This seems to have done it. She (the breeder said she's a she) was born in may so puburety could have done it too. She has gotten HUGE since I...

    Bad gecko! And ?

She's in an extra large critter keeper for the moment, yes I know, that has a uth on it. She'll be going to a 20 long very soon and I want to be sure we do that tank right the first time. What do you think about the biteing?

    Bad gecko! And ?

Thanks, as for his temp I've read everything from room temp to light bulb to all sorts of stuff. Right now he's probably only like 75- 80 but he's getting a tank upgrade soon so I'd like to know for sure before moving him.

    Bad gecko! And ?

My son has had his leopard gecko for about a month and she was very friendly at first but now she's started biteing! When you hold her shell lick you a few times and then bite. Why and how do we correct her? Also I can't seem to find a straight answer on this but what temp should she be at?

    bacterial infection

Wow! Thank you so much for all the info! I will try and answer each of your questions I believe it was coccodia. I don't know the name of the med now, sorry but it was white and had to be refrigerated. He got like one drop of it a day for 3 weeks. The vet did check his poo and said they...

    bacterial infection

Here is the tank pic. You can see him in the back right corner. He often sits in a corner like this. I'm looking at the possiblity that he's just too cold. I put the fish tank thermometer under the basking light and I'm only reading 84*. Could this make him not want to eat? The red stuff in...

    bacterial infection

The UVB light is an Exo terra desert bulb 10. The temps are measured with just your basic stick ons I have a digital thermometer in my fish tank maybe I could use that for a more accurate reading but I'm not sure about using it out of water. I'm reading the temps at the level of the basking/UVB...

I've had my dragon for about 6 weeks. A week or so after getting him I took him to the vet because he was not eating and very lathergic. He was also dehydrated and the vet geve him fluids under his skin. He also looked at his poo and said he had a bacterial infection, I can't remember the name...
