Why does my bearded dragon hate baths

@xp29 Exactly, that's why I'm not giving baths to my beardie. In case he would get dirty, I would first try to make only that body part wet, if that already gets the job done, and only if this doesn't work try the bath.

Why does my bearded dragon hate baths

@xp29 I agree very much! For that reason, I had never given my dragon a bath (he has never been dirty - neither poop nor something else*). He also generally hates water - when I water the plants in his enclosure, he goes away, or closes his eyes even if he's so far away from the plants no drop...

    Sleep time

I do the same. Also, because how his enclosure is structured, I could not get him out "before bedtime" - then either he still basks and prefers to sit under the lamp, or is already hiding. Also, my dragon doesn't stay long on me; 1 - 5 min, then he wants down, either going exploring or straight...

    What I do.

I know... sadly. I was living in the US for seven years (3 years in California, 4 years in Tennessee) and it was crazy... Starting with finding flour that is not "bleached and enhanced". Salt without "anti-caking agent". And other things. Had a lot of problems purchasing things like I wanted...

    What I do.

Agree... I'm very much into "not processed, simple ingredients, prepare it yourself". I've seen it so often that it was not understood and people looked irritated, what problem I might have with a certain "sour cream" - no, this is not a "sour cream"... Or why I'm not buying supermarket bread...

How long can a beardie sit in a carry-on/Plane to anywhere

Please make sure whether reptiles are allowed as carry-on with the airline you would like to fly with. Most airlines only allow cats and small dogs as carry-on. In almost all cases, reptiles will have to go into the cargo hold (like large dogs), or are freight.* For international travel, often...

    What I do.

Kids didn't easily become my friends (many people don't like autistic traits, so most kids didn't want to befriend me). So, I also had no friends who harassed animals - I had exactly one friend until finishing school. But I didn't invite anybody over again who was cruel to animals. No way.

    What I do.

@xp29 I did exactly the same. Was kind of a "tomboy" :) Childhood and youth photos show usually a girl in an overall and rubber boots, arms scratched up from going into hedges, maybe showing off some animal or plant or fossil, empty bird egg, skull... found. Summer breaks and evenings and...

    What I do.

Me also. And the introvert part is: To charge up mental energy, I need to be alone and do something quietly. Meeting friends is nice - but please not every weekend. Also not each second weekend. Once in a month, we're fine. Meeting friends is nice - but please one person for dinner or board...

Wilson waiting for his meal 😅🥲

Thanks for sharing :) Today we had a somewhat similar situation: It was "no bugs day" (for my adult dragon Taco; I don't feed insects daily anymore and I do the "no bug days" a bit randomly so he can't guess when they come). He was just basking and watching a construction site through the...

    What I do.

Exactly. I remember somebody not understanding the difference of "me giving a talk at a scientific conference" (no problem for me doing that) vs. "giving a funny speech at a wedding and entertaining people". Well, both has something to do with "talking in front of a crowd", but... Also no...

    What I do.

Or, to some amount: We try to chose our professions and our hobbies according to what we are good at. (Disclaimer: I'm aware that especially for a job, it's not always possible.) I could think of tons of jobs where one might soon "talk with HR" and fire me. Tons of jobs many people might...

    What I do.

I personally do not own one, as from our balcony, it's just too bright - and in addition we have no car. Btw., never owned my own telescope as a) the really small, cheap ones are not good and it's disappointing, b) the larger ones can be great, but expensive (was ways too expensive for me as a...

    What I do.

I might have to disappoint you: You won't see much ;) Really: Actually, it's not possible to peek through these telescopes - they only transmit data to a computer. On our control screen, we see some images in black and white that appear very grainy. (We use these images to be sure we are...

    What I do.

@NickAVD I totally agree! For learning how to code, there are nowadays tons (!) of usually good to very good instructions online. For anybody somewhat interested into that, I can strongly recommend taking a look :) Difficulties indeed usually arise when data become more complex, more...

    What I do.

@xp29 It suits me very well (I'm into all kind of technical and mathematical stuff, and I'm an introvert). Code I'm writing is for astronomical research, could be e.g. analysis of data taken by telescopes, code that steers the optics of a telescope, some mechatronic things...

    window ladder

No, he didn't climb it yet as he didn't want to come out yesterday, and today so far also not. Let's say whether he wants to come out today evening, and if, we try :) He's an avid climber, he'd go up anything, so I'm very sure he will like to climb it. As he hesitates always with new things, I...

A photo from my workplace might first look a bit weird and eerie. But what I really do, it will also look like this Attached is just a photo from my workplace, how it looks outside. In one of those buildings out in the Atacama desert, it's me coding stuff all day long :D

    window ladder

Ladder for my beardie Taco to reach his window seat. The ladder is secured well (just add this info as it's not really obvious from the photo that it is secured, and this is very important to me because feet, tail... could easily be trapped and badly injured when such a ladder tips over).
