Isn't the Reptisun 10.0 effective up to 20" away? Kota is about 9 inches away when he is on his branch and his basking spot is about 12" away from the uvb.

So you can use just a regular house light bulb to emit heat, just as long as it is clear? And these bulbs emit the UVA rays that are needed?

It is a full spectrum daylight bulb for heating. The bulb is blue and looks like a regular light bulb. I am wondering what everyone else uses for their heat source...

Help! I seem to be going through the Zoomed daylight bulbs like crazy. I cannot get them to last, is there a better bulb out there? We have had Koda for about 7 months, and I know I have gone through at least 5 bulbs...what gives??

I took the temp of her rock with a thermal scanner thermometer that I use for my kids and it registered her rock being 104.5*F. So Jess you were right the mercury thermometer was off. Thanks again!
