    Beardie fall

Do you see this tissue on the right side of her mouth? Hanging over her teeth? I’m wondering if that happened when she fell and it’s causing pain? Does it look normal? I’m just racking my brain trying to figure my baby out.

    Beardie fall

Her poops have all been pretty normal. Solid but a good amount of liquid around them. Stinky but not too bad. I WAS worried in the back of my mind that any latent parasites might be multiplying with her injury. But I’m not sure that’s how they work? She hasn’t been around any other animals or...

    Beardie fall

@Drache613 do you think I should give her the 2nd dose of the dewormers today? (Panacur and ponazuril) or the antibiotics? I am leaning towards no, but I would like a 2nd opinion.

Also, now that she’s been given all of these drugs, what is the best probiotic to give her? And what is a good volume of water I should try to get in to her per day (in mL)?

    Beardie fall

She is maintaining. Still gaping a LOT. I’m not sure how she’s going to do though after this visit bc he already gave her the 1st dose of all the meds. Ugh. 😓

    Beardie fall

I took Ember to a new vet who sees exotics who is closer to us. So this is different from the exotics vet (who only sees exotics) we normally go to. I changed bc this one is MUCH closer and I had a few recommendations from friends. So first off, this vet had a very “alpha” demeanor and “my way...

    Beardie fall

Not too badly - only a tiny bit. I think that’s left over from the spitting out the medicine incident.

Here she is looking more normal 🙂

    Beardie fall

I will make another appointment. She’s not newly flipping on her back- she has done that every once in awhile after the accident. I was hoping she was getting better and not doing it any more. But she just did it again yesterday (as mentioned above). 😓 She’s gaping about once / twice a minute it...

    Beardie fall

Here are some pics inside her mouth and one of her gaping and puffing up her beard. Does her mouth look normal?

    Beardie fall

The humidity is around 38% usually. I have 2 probe thermometers and also a temp gun. I have still been hand feeding her on her tongue. She went over to her salad yesterday and looked at it but didn’t eat. I gave her some greens on her tongue and she seemed to want them - she gaped more...

    Beardie fall

I’ve been watching the temp pretty closely - keeping basking spot at 95. She has been gaping and puffing her beard both on the warm side/ basking spot and on the cool side of her tank. So I’m not sure what that is about. And I can’t think of anything that could be stressing her, although she is...

    Beardie fall

I think she is very slowly improving? It’s still hard to say. She doesn’t move much and is wobbly when she does. But she does move around her tank for her light/heat needs. She’s also still gaping and puffing her beard, but it seems a little less frequently. She isn’t black bearding. I’m still...

    Beardie fall

One slightly strange thing is that she gapes after her lights turn off while she is sleeping - at least I’ve seen her do it in the early night when I am still awake and in the early morning before her light turns on. So maybe it’s not while she’s in a deep sleep? I haven’t checked her in the...

    Beardie fall

I can’t really tell if her balance is improving. She’s still wobbly, so she still has some sort of issue. She did come out yesterday and walk/wobble around the room. And her beard isn’t black any more. However, she does still gape her mouth and puff out her beard periodically- I can’t figure out...

    Beardie fall

No - I mean she is always just sitting with 1 side facing me (like in the picture). So I can’t see both of her eyes at the same time - I wasn’t sure if comparing her eyes to each other was a way to tell if she’s concussed?

    Beardie fall

Her bask spot is lower now. Should I shoot for higher than 95 degrees? UVB is 12” above her. I also placed some Repashy grub pie on her tongue as she was gaping. So at least she’s getting some food and vitamins now. She wouldn’t eat roaches off my fingers or veg when offered to her so I...

    Beardie fall

Ember will very rarely walk in front of me now. I have found her a couple times either wedged sideways between her bask platform (about 2” off the ground) and the wall or today just found her on her back beside it. She did manage to flip herself over. When she walks, she kind of wobbles left and...
