    Missing her food

Hi all I need help with Levi! She is about 1 year old and used to be very healthy, but she stopped eating :( and is losing weight. I had her to the vet 3 times in 1 month, we had her treated for parasites, double checked her cage setup lighting and temperature with the vet and replaced UV light...

    Eating EVERYTHING!

a month ago....and much smaller Levi is my first bearded dragon, so I wouldn't know. Is she too fat? Somehow I don't believe that animals would eat more than they need...but if the vet says she a 'glutinous eater'?

    Eating EVERYTHING!

I will post pic as soon as I get them uploaded :) I forgot to mention the vitamins, she gets them too. She eats about a cup of veggies every day, as soon as she finishes them, I give her some more. So she always has something to eat incase she is still hungry. The cricks are medium size (fit...

    Eating EVERYTHING!

Been a while since I last posted anything, but I have a major concern about my little (who is not so little anymore) Levi. She is 5 month old, eats all her veggies as well as 60 - 100 crickets a day. She really eats a lot, and is slightly obese  (according to the vet and other beardie...

He won't eat from his food dish!

I had the same problem with my new baby. He wouldnt eat anything unless it was handfed...I started off by packing veggies all over his cage...Eventualy it got his attention and he only started to eat the butternut and carrots, but ignored the greens (I guess because they are bright and caught...

    Water Dishes

I asked the same question when I just got my beardie.... I've only had him for 3 months, but a reply I had on my post, that made the most sense to me,is to put in a small water dish. If your bearded dragon doesn't need/use it, your not losing anything, but if he does, it is readily available...

    Loadshedding?!

Thanks for the reply! I handle him ALOT, and hes very tame, and when we camp he does sometimes alow me to keep him in my jacket, or against my body. Problem is I do work during the day and wont know when the power is out, because I stay in Pretoria and work in Joburg. I am also still thinking of...

My beardie tries to eat the fake plants?

My Levi did the exact same thing! he's about 4months old. I removed the fake plants after a month, he wouldn't stop trying to eat them. He loves his salad greens so much, he tries to eat everything that looks leafy .... I am keeping him on newspaper at the moment, and he will even try to eat any...

    Do I have to handfeed?!

So I've had my bearded dragon for 1 month,2 weeks. He's 2-3 months old. I don't feed his crickets in his viv, (Its a mission to get all of them out before bed-time!) I keep them in a separate container, that is big enough for me to put Levi in when he has to eat (He just sits on my hand eating...

    Levi's not drinking water

Ok, so this is not exactly a 'food' related question, but I don't know where else to post this  . Im not sure if my 3month old bearded dragon is hydrated, or getting any water at all. How much water do bearded dragons need? I have never seen Levi take in any form of water, except for the...

    Why is my beardie hiding?

Well, his basking area gets up to 105 degrees, and the cold side about 90. Night temperatures never drop below 80 degrees. I had sand as a substrate for a week, but am now using newspaper. I use a13W 10.0 UVB lamp and a 25Watt basking lamp (which is what the petshop recommended) lights go on at...

    Why is my beardie hiding?

I have a very healthy and happy bearded dragon about 2-3 months old. He loves being outside, loves attention and eats very well (about 20 crickets a day, as well as salad). I haven't actually seen him drink or lick water, but I mist his veggies and his cage (twice a day) and give his baths every...

Thanks so much for the advice. I found a packet of mixed salad herbs (containing some of the greens you mentioned) as well as a petshop that sells ready-made beardie salad! My little Levi is eating everything!

New beardy owner with lots of questions :)

Thanx so much for the helpful info! I do have more questions though... "I think most of what you are offering your bearded dragon should be fed occasionally, and they really do need a staple green vegetable, such as collard, mustard, or dandelion greens." I stay in Pretoria, South Africa, and...
