The Pro Exotics PE-2 Infrared Temp Gun adds a few more advanced features than the PE-1. The PE-2 unit adds a much requested red sighting laser, and an expanded temperature range to 482F (easily switchable to 250C). The PE-2 has an adjustable emissivity setting for precise calibration, and perhaps best of all, a tight infrared "cone" distance to spot ratio (D:S) of 8:1. That means at a distance of 8 inches, you are reading an area just 1 inch in diameter. At a distance of 2 feet, an area of just 3 inches, as compared to the wider D:S ratio of 1:1 on the PE-1 unit.

Comments: I love the PE-2 Temp Gun. I recently got it after upgrading tank sizes for my beardie Paarthurnax, and it seems to do a great job! Spot on. Just point and click, and you get an almost instant reading. Or you can hold the button down and move it around, which I like to do to all over the tank just to make sure nothing is too hot or too cold. Bath water, the tank, and other stuff around the house like food and my mom's forehead while she was napping are all fun to check the temperature on. Quick, accurate, easy, and helpful. I love it.

Comments: I have this temp gun and love it. It's so much better than having to buy several digital thermometers since I have a few different reptiles. I love how accurate it is and I use it daily. I even use it to check the temps on my roach colony. I highly recommend this temp gun.

Comments: Hands down one of the most useful accessories I've ever gotten. All those plastic gauges that you find in pet shops are so inaccurate. This thing claims to be accurate within 2 degrees (I find it's pretty dead on). Ever wonder just hot your basking spot REALLY is? You can confirm temperatures in just a few seconds with this. They have a smaller version if this one seems too expensive. I also now KNOW how accurate the thermostat on my wine fridge is (actually pretty good).
