Compact Fluorescent 5.0 UVB Bulb
Google lookup
Product by: Zoo Med
Average Rating: 2 beardies

All of the benefits of Zoo-Med’s standard 5.0 tube, but in a smaller unit! These bulbs have a standard base and will screw into any incandescent light fixture. Ideal for use in smaller enclosures when space is at a premium, or when a standard fluorescent fixture is not feasible.

Comments: The previous review must be old because according to new studies the compact bulbs burn beardie's eyes. I had a 10.0 compact uvb bulb for my BD and after several days his eyes started to hurt. I do NOT recommend this product. Here is the website: http://www.uvguide.co.uk/phototherapyphosphor.htm

Comments: Mine burned out in less than 3 months. Zoomed did offer a replacement, but I could not find where I stuck the old bulb.

Comments: In my opinion, this is an excellent product. Some have said that the compact version of these UBV bulbs are not comparable to the fluorescent tube version, but I disagree. Not having fluorescent fixtures over my tanks, I chose these compact bulbs. After replacing my other compact UVB bulbs with these, my beardies showed a marked improvement in both their health, activity levels, and appetite. I would'nt hesitate to recommend them for anyone who does not have a fluorescent fixture. However, I do run two of them over each tank since they don't throw the rays into as wide of an area as a fluorescent tube does.
