I think my beardie is about to die and idk what to do should I take her back to the pet store or vet. Mind you I don’t have the money for a vet and I know her lighting might be the problem.

What are the basking temps and how are you taking them? NO stick on they are inaccurate- place a digital probe thermometer where she sits to bask and get the temp --- for a juvie dragon 95-100 --- the UVB is a good one where is it ? top of screen or inside the tank ? What kind of screen do you have ? fine mesh like a screen door or a wide hole type? Please get some water in her she looks dehydrated-- when we get the temps and lighting fixed we can go from there --- she will not eat w/ out proper temps and the UVB correctly in place --- your using good bulbs we just need to adjust them the T 5 needs correct distance and placement - your UVB fixture does it have a reflector in it? a shiny piece of material looks like tin foil

1. I don’t know the temps in either of her spots and I don’t have a temp gun to do so.

2.the uvb is on top of the screen not inside

3.I don’t know what screen it is but I can show you the picture of the old small one. It does look like a screen door it came with the tank btw.

4. I just gave her a bath a few mins ago, is that the only way to get water in her what else can I or do I do? Gives her baths regularly for now on if so how much and when?

5.yes if a reflector in the uvb means it looks like a mirror inside then yes it is one in the light fixture ill put a picture too.

(Ill show the light placement too)

Please take the screen off the tank and place the UVB and the basking bulb directly over her ---- you want a distance of 12-15 inches directly over her for the UVB --- you need to get a digital probe thermometer ASAP to get a actual basking temp -- this needs to be done NOW--- you dont want to burn her up ----- when did she eat last ? You need to get some food in her if shes not eating on her own please make a slurry of fresh greens like collard turnips or kale w/ water and a pinch of D3 calcium --- see if she will eat off a spoon lick or feed by syringe feed very slowly so she does not aspirate --- feed small amounts like 1/2 ml - 1 ml at a time --- w/ no digital thermometer that is a issue but your UVB is one of the best we just need to get it correctly placed and distanced -- those two things I just mentioned are crucial - if she does not start getting better w/ those corrected something else is going on --- I am posting a website to find a reptile vet ---- www.arav.org if your in a small town type in a zip code for a bigger city closest to you --- I also would recommend getting rid of the substrate for paper towels for now we can go over options for a different one later but we must figure out what is going on w/ her---------------- the basking bulb can sit on the screen but that UVB needs to be unobstructed so place it width wise on the tank directly over her and have the screen half on w/ the basking bulb sitting on it

Ok sounds good --- I am not sure exactly what is going on here but we need to get those temps and UVB up to par and get some food / water in her --- I would lay off the baths for now it may be stressing her out -- concentrate on the temps UVB and food

Hello,

Lizzy is very thin. How old is she right now?
Definitely try to get some food slurry into her for nutrition. Her fat pads are down a lot. What are you putting
in the greens slurry for her? You can get some chicken or turkey baby food, mixed with squash or sweet potato
baby food in with it for more calories.
Using the Reptisun 10 T5 tube is a great bulb. If it is on top of the screen, a 10 inch distance should be fine.
Are you keeping her around 75-80 overnight to help boost her system also?

Let us know how she is doing.

Hi,

Shes currently in some sort of deep sleep?? She is breathing tho.Idk how old she is but we have her for 6 years,
Yesterday my mom bought everything the digital thermometer and a syringe. We blended her a food slurry of squash, cucumbers & water in it with a pinch d3 calcium she ate half of it!
Today im trying to feed her the rest but shes not waking up, so I put her back in her cage idk what to do now bc I want her to eat but she wont wake up.

Side note: I found out her basking spot is 91 degrees fahrenheit and the other side (the side shes on) with the CHE is 87 degrees.

Too hot for the cold side you want it in the 80's during the day --- increase the basking side to 95-100 --- sounds like shes brumating --- please watch her behavior when you get the basking temp up-- this could be a reason shes not eating -please get her off the sand put paper towels in for now --- after looking at the pic she does not look good --- she is weak please get her under the UVB and basking and keep feeding her ---

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
