Possible tail rot?

Hi. I got a bearded dragon two days ago from petsmart and once I got him home I realized the end of his tail looks a bit different. By this I mean that it looks like the skin has one or two small “creases” (this is the best way I know to explain it.)It’s very small portion of the tail and right at the tip. It also feels hard compared to the rest of tail, but i’ve never had a beardie before so i’m not sure if the hardness at the end of the tail is normal. The tip is also very pointy, which i’m unsure if this is normal either. I’ve been reading about tail rot and i’m just unsure if this is the case. Does this sound like tail rot?

Looks like his tail was nipped by his tank mates. This happens all to often when they are crowded together. It should be fine as long as there are no open wounds present. Just keep an eye on it.

Here’s an update. I came home from work today & realized the tip of his tail looked bigger, almost like the actual tip had fallen off. Not even 5 minutes later, I found the tip in the tank, sure enough it had. Can this be just because his tail got nipped, or should this cause more concern? I attached pictures but they’re not very good, so i’m not even sure that’ll help.

Hello,

It looks fine, just a blunt end there. It appears to be healing up nicely. Maybe to be sure it is all healed up go ahead & put some antibiotic ointment on it for a couple of weeks.

Hello,

Sure, you can try neosporin or polysporin either one. They are both good &
routinely used. They are very safe as well, for their scales.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
