Thank you for the advice. I am heartbroken to report that he did not survive the night. He passed away warm, fed and peacefully. I am afraid he was just too far gone...I have the feeling that he was only alive because he was so cold with his previous owner.

Instead of a red bulb, get a ceramic heat emitter if you need heat at night. No light, just heat.

So, I answered an ad on craigslist for a free beardie this morning. I could tell by the ill taken photos that it was not in good shape but, I reasoned that I have tons of herp experience and rescue experience so I figured I have time and space and obviously this guy needs some help...long story...
