    Very aggressive juvenile

The whole phenomenon of bearded dragons becoming very defensive if you suddenly wake them up is quite common (and quite understandable). My first dragon would do this and stay angry for at least an hour if it happened. I'd just put her in the guest room where she could hide under the bed until...

    Very aggressive juvenile

Mom's a total sweetheart. Dad was very dominant. Could be a bit testy, but it was more of him trying to show everyone who's boss than anything. Unfortunately, he passed away before this little guy even hatched (RIP Hugh). Anyways, Dad was a stunning dragon who I used as my exclusive male...

    Very aggressive juvenile

So I've bred about 150 beardies, and late last year I hatched a very problematic individual who's getting progressively worse. Despite zero behavioral problems with any of his brothers or sisters and zero variation in husbandry, this boy who came out has evolved into quite the little monster. At...

1 year old dragon have spasms/twitching

The bulb itself was straight and not a coil, but I understand that it was far less than ideal. Thank you for your words.

1 year old dragon have spasms/twitching

She's gone. RIP sweet girl. A little surprised by the suddenness of it all. 24 hours ago and you would've never guessed anything was wrong.

1 year old dragon have spasms/twitching

So I don't think she's going to make it unfortunately. She had deteriorated when I got up this morning, and is only slightly responsive now. I've had her propped up on a little platform about six inches away from a fully exposed bulb all day, but she's more or less the same. I've ordered a new...

It's a wide hole type. Here's a picture of the bulb.

1 year old dragon have spasms/twitching

So the dose of calcium may have helped. She stopped the twitching and irregular breathing, and was sitting upright when I went to check on her. With that being said, she's lethargic now (but still responsive) and has sunken eyes.

I read that she might be calcium deficient. I have her a dose of liquid calcium.

1 year old dragon have spasms/twitching

I’m using a Reptisun 10.0 UVB Desert bulb (the full size one) on top of screen. Basking temperature’s about 98, and I use the gun to measure. Let me work on a picture.

1 year old dragon have spasms/twitching

Hello all, So I'm in need of some urgent help. I have a 1 year old dragon and something's quite wrong with her. I went to check on her about 20 minutes ago, only to find her lying flat in her cage and having periodic twitching/spasms which are accompanied by her lifting her head up and...

    Bearded dragon not breeding

1.) Are you 100% positive there hasn't been a successful copulation? My former breeder male Hugh (RIP buddy) had a routine where he'd do the deed with one of my females on the first try, and then if I paired him with the same girl after that, he'd do exactly what your male is doing. The cycle...

    Is this dragon egg fertile?

I've learned to throw every egg that doesn't come out deflated and clearly infertile in the incubator. A lot of the time eggs that seemed infertile at first end up being good to go. If one of my girls laid that, it would definitely be going in.

If you love lizards consider reading and sighning to make a

While I like the idea and am deeply saddened when I see a neglected beardie, the reality is that I'm not sure how this would be enforceable, and even if it was, we'd see the entire pet market (do we need lizard classes but not dog classes?) diminish to almost nothing if this was the case. I...
