While they could be, it does not sound like they are full grown. I am not familiar with stunted growth if that might be the case. Once returned to health, I dont see why their reproductive systems would not be functional.

Ive got a guy who was this way when he started to hit puberty. There was a TON of ebb and flow in his behavior. Overtime he warmed up. He will now come out and play, be held etc. He still has his days hi hisses and wants left alone... but doesnt play death the the hoomans anymore.
