    Meet Felniir

A quick update here: I think Felniir is preparing for his first brumation  He's staying in the cool side of the tank, napping almost all day. :)

Late reply here again - No, I haven't tried showing a plushie/plastic toy to him yet, but I'll get to it :)

Little white bugs crawling all over the colony

Thanks, Cooper! :) Yeah, I'm trying to lower the humidity around the bin, but it's quite challenging as I'm renting a small room (around 10 square meters), so I'm practicly living in the same air space as the colony, and my presence, drying clothes, fish tank all raise the humidity, but I'm...

Little white bugs crawling all over the colony

Hi Guys! So I've had a dubia colony for 6 months now, and noticed tiny white bugs crawling all over the breeder bin. I've noticed the mites (?) around 2 days ago, though judging by their numbers they must be older. The best pictures I can provide with my phone camera are linked below...

    Meet Felniir

Long time, no checking in, so here's a more recent picture - I've taken Felniir to work with me. He was very tired by the end of the day, but all my colleagues loved him 8)

    Dubia Roach Males Dying Off

Hey Guys! I just came here to start the exact same topic, and then found this one  I've started my lil' bin of roaches in March, and their numbers are growing steadily, but the number of (adult) males seem to be diminishing - the bodies are the same as Blitz's colony, whole (and dry)...

    New beardie slave here

shenlong looks beutiful! 8) May I ask what kind of plants are those? I've been thinking of putting some in Felniir's viv, but I don't know of any beardie-proof (and safe) plants.

    Meet Felniir

Thanks so much! :) I'll be posting the progress of the Dubia colony in a new thread this month, have to buy the equipment first for the critters, though. Some new pictures coming in as well 8) (shedding in progress  )

    Meet Felniir

Further good news coming up! :) The team from which I'm ordering my feeders just posted a new offer: 1000+ dubias sized 7 mm-5 cm is currently costs less than 23 dollars, which seems a bargain, as this offer seems ideal for starting my own colony. :) I'll spend this month preparing...

    Meet Felniir

So we went to the specialist last week, it was a real adventure, the first time I travelled with Felniir with him outside a box - he seemed to enjoy watching the people on the bus from under my coat. Good news: he's healthy, strong and looks real good under the x-ray. (another great...

    Meet Felniir

Awesome link, thanks! :) :study: :study: :study: One thing that immediately caught my eye: Dubias don't bite? Does this mean that if I give Felniir more dubias than he eats, I don't have to hunt them down before bedtime to avoid the hunter becoming the prey?

WARNING, Should've considered this before getting her!

Truer words have never been spoken! I'm currently sitting at work and secretly reading about beardites... guess who's in love? :D (Luckily, my partner's in love with my beardie as well, so no jealousy involved there 8) )
