That sounds like a lot of heat for a 10 gallon tank, I would definitely remove the pads and make sure to get an accurate temp on his basking/cool side. If I were you I would move him into at least a 20 gallon tank asap and get a uvb light on him.

Might want to put him in a bigger enclosure if possible, if not available right now I'd say have him out for some SUPERVISED exploration time. Mine did the same until he got bumped up to a 40 gallon tank and he hasn't done it since.

Anyone have a secret to dusting crickets? I've always dusted his worms but he picky as to when wants to eat them, crickets are always a go for him though. He also has his pellets that I mix in with his veggies but again... Picky

Update: I don't know why but the little daredevil loves that flag. I gave him a couple small superworms yesterday to see how he'd like them and he gobbled them right up, he hadn't pooped all day and into today (this dude poops a lot) and I worried that he had a hard time digesting the supers...
