So far I have noticed that Skim is very active. I think this is a combination of the new lights and the fact that he's at the end of his month long shedding. He loves jumping in and out of his water splashing everything, his basking temps are finally where they're supposed to be and he's eating...

This is so funny, about a week ago I went through the same thing...I thought he had boogers so I used a cotton ball to wipe them and those came out...I panicked! Then I was looking at them and realized that he had just shed his nasal passage skin. Haha the pic where your guy looks proud of them...

You can get a mat that looks like sand but isn't loose, that's what we did. Be sure to rinse the mat thoroughly and let it dry completely before installing.

Be really watchful of them until separated. Way before I got him my poor guy had his toes chewed off by his sister when they were small because they were kept together too long. He has one back foot with no toes :(
