If your beardie is not actively going after the crickets when you drop them in - I would feed outside of its enclosure. In my case, I drop the crickets in one by one and watch my beardie eat them. When he stops, I only have to remove one cricket, but sitting there picking up a cricket a time...

No reason to get two, it will only make your life possibly more difficult, (and twice as expensive). Beardies do perfectly fine alone (usually better alone).
