Incandescent for basking? Need advice ASAP.

You can try the 60W. Do you have something to check basking temperatures with? It might be difficult to get the temperature high enough, especially if you have a taller viv.

    Leopard gecko enclosure question

The UTH would definitely get hot enough, maybe too hot. You'll notice on the warnings for a UTH that they recommend against sandwiching it between something like wood and tile. I personally woudln't go that route, but I'm pretty cautious anyway. Are you installing lighting as per the...

is a 36x18x18 tank big enough for an adult beeardie?

I was most satisfied after upgrading to a 48x24x24 because of the extra space and landscaping options, but the one you described will work for an adult.

    Sandstone..

After baking the smell should go away, then it should be just fine. I've baked or boiled many rocks and pieces of driftwood for vivs and aquariums over the years. They all stink bad while cooking. It's usually a good idea to do it when nobody else is home...

I had great success by following this site. http://www.angelfire.com/planet/roach/roach/cageandcare/ The best place would probably be to buy from a well established member on the forum, some might even throw in a few extras for free. Once my colony was really booming I couldn't give them away...

My thoughts on the sand discussion...

The dangers of predation, starvation, and impaction in the wild result in an average lifespan of about 3 years from what I remember reading... If you wish to increase lifespan, you minimize these risks, impaction being one of them. Dragons in captivity can live around 10 years. Minimize these...

    Hello Everybody!

I have only held her once, but she seemed a little jumpy. No problems eating crickets from my hand though. It's ok, I'm patient.

    Hello Everybody!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Bret and I'm a 24 year old college student from Cedar City UT. The other day I noticed an add in the school classifieds for a free Bearded Dragon. I jumped right on it and am now the owner of an 8" female(unsure of age) and a 45 gallon tank. I picked...
