I have a dragon that is 3 yrs old and never had his nails cut. His nails are quite long and only about 1/8 inch beyond the white part. Is it possible to do anything now to shorten his nails?

Claudiusx is correct. Your dragon is not a Rankin. The distinguishing feature on a Rankin is the series of dual polka dots down the back. This guy in the picture is a 3 months old Rankin, VERY active, a bit skittish even after frequent handling and quite voracious.
