Hello all- My beardie is out for a free roam and he likes to sit on the windowsill. He just ate a crane fly that was behind the blinds, I didn’t see it there. Will he be alright?? Thanks!

I have been dusting the bugs so that’s good. 👍🏻 if he refuses bugs I dust the salad but he doesn’t really eat it. Okay, I checked his weight, it’s 445 grams. I will keep track of it. Thank you for the reply!

Hello! I am concerned about a change in my 11 month old beardie’s behavior. He mostly stays in his cave during the day, he will come out for bugs, but is mostly refusing greens/veggies. If he does come out of his cave he does go to his basking spot for a few hours, but then goes into his cave...

Do you think we should get a longer uvb? Right now it’s 22”. The enclosure is 4x2x2’

Oh gotcha. Yeah he has two large branches and a small hide in the enclosure as well.

Why another decor piece? A smaller one? Shouldn’t be be basking under the uvb and basking bulb at the same time? The basking bulb looks like that cause I have to turn it down on the dimmer to get the correct temp. I will monitor it and if it gets too hot that close I will move it back outside...

Okay. It’s about 9” from the top of the basking decor. We also moved the basking light inside the enclosure. Does this look ok or should we move the uvb up some?

Also can should it be directly placed over the top of him or can I be tilted so the light is hitting him? It’s a bit different going from 40 gal to 120 😓

We are using reptisun t5 10.0 HO. Initially I think it was mounted too close to the front when we switched him to a new/bigger enclosure. I have since moved it back and replaced the bulb. Picture on the right is the old placement.

Well when he had small roaches he was eating 50 per day, we switched to medium size and went down to 30 per day. I figure maybe it’s the change in the size of roach combined with not enough UVB. Please keep him in your thoughts that’s it’s nothing serious and he gets better in the next few days...
