I could by all means "put a lid on it" so to say, but then I fear that my supers will get VERY hot. I do keep them outside, and I live in Florida...so I feel certain I would lose most of the colony by doing that.
Anyone?
I know I'm not the only one with this problem. Has anyone been able to discover a cure for keeping these little flies out? Would it help if I buried the food I give to the feeders under the bedding of their container?
Well that was the plan. I was in the process of planting a vegetable garden and I found a really big grub. We don't use any fertilizers, so my only reservation was the chompers on those things being HUGE.
I realize that keeping feeders outside seems like a ridiculous idea to most of you who live up north, but I live in Florida. I keep my superworms outside because I don't have room inside (duh). It has been getting unusually cold here during the nights, (in the 30's) which is murder on my supers...
Brumation is killing me too! Roscoe is so unpredictable when it comes to being out and about. I don't know if I should buy him greens or not because one day he's out, and then the next day he goes down and stays there for weeks.
One thing I do hope for is snuggle time. Anytime during the...
Despite the colder weather here today, Roscoe was making an appearance so my girlfriend decided she would like to hold him. So we decided to have a little fun and put him in her hoodie pocket!
I think I'm getting "The Glare" in this picture.
I think he would have fallen asleep in there, but...
The boy just always has his tongue sticking out, even when he sleeps. It really highlights his laziness. Or maybe he just does it when I'm around
Roscoe has pretty much been asleep for 2 months. However, when it gets warm he will peak his head out and grace me with his presence. The second photo is him sleeping standing up. This is his first brumation....he's still getting used to it I think
Pookie is by far one of my favorite beardies! I love when I get picture updates on him! On a side note I was also glad to see that Roscoe isn't the only beardie that constantly has his mouth open a crack. It just makes him look THAT much lazier when he's lounging. Isn't Pookie in Brumation...
I feel your pain. Roscoe is almost the same age as pookie ( a few months older) and he has been down for nearly a month! I hate hate hate it!
So far he's only come out one time! One time in almost a month! I did get a funny picture of him sleeping while standing up though, as soon as I can the...
