    Where to buy Superworms?

Alright, I've been feeding roaches for some time now, so I've been totally out of the feeder loop. Since my old man came out of brumation this spring, it has pained me to see that he is pretty much incapable of hunting down roaches unless I strip down his tank and leave him to it for half and...

    scared girl

Priss seldom threatens me by opening her mouth (although she did do this every time I picked her up for several months after we first got her, no matter how long I gave her to get used to my hand before trying, and did actually bite me 2 or 3 times), she just makes it clear she has had her fill...

    scared girl

It really depends. I rescued a girl at 9 months (who had been BADLY neglected, she was hardly bigger than hatchling size), and she's over 2 now, and has never gotten used to handling, although if I take her out when she's been asleep for a while, she'll put up with me for about half an hour...

    The perfect beggining tank?

You don't buy slick tile, you get tile that has some "grip" to it, like slate and other natural stone tiles. There's no reason you can't buy the same decorations for a baby as an adult. I have had to strip down my littlest girls tank though because she has a tendency to hide & sleep all day...

I got a new baby and I have concerns

He will eat as much as he needs to, getting used to the new environment can take some time. However, what you've been reading is totally accurate, and most young dragons will eat 50-100 crickets a day during the first year.

Not eating greens/fruit, sluggish, spazzy dragon!

Oops, I wanted to weigh in on that too! I assure you that "clumsy" is not a normal thing for older dragons. My old man, who will be 9 in a couple months, moves around more carefully than my girls because I'm sure his old body can tend to hurt, just like all animals, people included (usually...

I'm NEW to Beardies and have some questions.

That wouldn't really work, no. :( 14 hour days are the absolute max we advise for a daylight schedule, and they need an hour to heat up in the morning before eating, and then 2 hours under the basking light to digest after eating, since they are cold blooded all that food would sit in their...

I'm NEW to Beardies and have some questions.

Actually, 40-60 per day is a pretty conservative estimate, I was going through about 1000 crickets every 2 weeks for the first year with Priss. So that's just over 70 crickets every day. Inara hasn't worked her way quite to those levels yet, but she's quite the cricket/roach hoover when she's...

Once and for all, which is it? gaping=too hot or okay

Seconded. They'll move if they're cooking, gaping is just a way to let out some of the heat.

Not eating greens/fruit, sluggish, spazzy dragon!

Be careful about pet store advice. Many of the so-called reptile "experts" are the same people who got A LOT of our members off on the wrong foot. It helps to remember that while lizards may seem similar, dragons, geckos & anoles all have VERY different husbandry needs, so even if you know...

    Online crickets

78 would be perfectly fine, I keep my house at 70 with absolutely no supplemental heat on the crickets, and I've had this order from Ghann's since the 26th of last month with a pretty minimal death toll.

    Phoenix worms

Thank you! Yeah, I bought smalls once & they were the size of mosquito larva, so I didn't think larges would be too large, but wanted to be sure. That does scare me a bit, I'm prepared to feed her up to 100 a day, but not crickets/roaches the same day if she eats that many!

No one? Really? I would have thought these pretty simple questions.

wheres the best place to get pheonix worms online?

Everywhere gets their crickets from http://www.phoenixworms.com, so unless you're buying another feeder at the same time, it's always going to be cheaper.
