That looks normal to me. It does not look like tail rot. My Lizzy's tail changes color before a shed.

It's normal before they shed for their tail to be a different color than their body. My beardie does the same exactly thing before a shed. It's definitely not tail rot or anything to worry about.

I agree just find a nice log or branch outside and bake it I the oven for 45 minutes or so. I baked mine for 45 minutes at 300 degrees. It's crazy how much money pet stores and reptile stores want for logs/branches.

I live in Florida, so we don't really have to worry about it being too cold. It's hot here about 95% of the year. I'm thinking I'll probably end up bringing Lizzy home on the weekends until she's a little older.
