Metacam seems to be a popular pain medication prescribed by vets. I’ve had to give it via syringe orally. Otherwise, Silkworms are a natural pain reliever, usually hard to get your hands on and a little expensive but are known to ease discomfort !
He’s about 18 inches long . He has eaten approx 40 bugs since his last poop and also still eats a little salad every day. I’m wondering how long of this type of behaviour ongoing would warrant a vet trip. I’ve been hoping to get a fecal done since before this started, I knew I should have saved...
This strike is still ongoing !!
There were two days since he began refusing crickets & BSFL that he ate some crickets , most being 17 on October 27. Since then he’s again refusing anything but worms. We were able to get silk worms a few times and he gobbled them
Up no problem. He also will go...
Thanks ! I try to be weary of *treat* bugs .. is it okay to alternate hornworms & super worms daily until he decides to get back on the crickets ? Or will that spoil him ? I’m not sure if it’s better to go a day without bugs or only “non-staple” bugs. I’ve also heard mixed things on mealworms...
He’s a very big boy! He is about 17 inches long. He was a super aggressive eater since we got him averaging 70-80 bugs a day mostly BSFL and crickets. I have lots of super worms, meal worms and hornworms for my other pets. Should I offer some of them daily until he decides to get back on the...
I use tile floor ! Just regular tile flooring from a hardware store cut to fit the viv. Just look for something textured so it’s easy to walk on. Slate is good for their nails. Very easy to clean !
6 days ago Chicken started refusing crickets & BSFL. He is eating his salads in full daily & will take treat worms. Dubia roaches are illegal here & silk worms are hard to come by. I was able to get my hands on a few silks this week and he ate 5 yesterday and 5 today no problem. But still...
Getting the basking temp with a temp gun! And I ready juveniles should have temp 110-115? He has a very tall stick it’s about 6 inches from the very top to the screen which does have pretty wide holes. I’m pretty certain he climbs just to climb , he often spends a lot of the day in his hide...
So our little guy turned 4 months old a few days ago & is up to 150g & 14 inches long !
Before we got him we made a rock wall out and finally just put it in now that he’s too big to scale the top of it .. but he’s still climbing !! Is this a problem ? He can get up and down fine but I’m...
I’m not sure. I honestly don’t even know the new owners name ! They were just given my boyfriends number by a mutual friend to see if we had any suggestions. We texted them the link to this forum so hopefully they will make an account & be able to update / reach out for help themselves
